i disagree with vicksta... if you buy them everything then, lets just say u will spoil them and that isn't something you might want to do. just treat them nice with respect and when you tell them to do something, don't just order them to do it, aske them politely. and i guess the rest is up to u after all you are the parent i am only a teen who is trying to help out and adult how odd is that? and about parenting? lol i guess i wish my father was like that in some way but you don't have to know that...
hope this helps you in anyway possible!!

Material things don't matter. Show them love every chance you can. TELL them how much they mean to you every chance you can. Smother them with hugs and kisses. Those are the things that will last a life time...not material things.
As long as a child knows that you are there for them, no matter what...they seem to choose the right path, because that is what they were taught

( I am presuming that you are referring to young children and not adults.)

I believe the main thing though, above all else is to teach them about God's love for them, and the love of family. If they have that instilled in them, surely that will make their lives better.

My children are grown. For the most part I don't comment on their lives with their families. However, on occasion, I have felt that it was time for mom to put her 2 cents in, and I have. It's not always welcome, but I think even our adult children can learn from the wisdom we've garnered over the years. Sometimes my sons still need mom's advice and they ask for it. So, the way I help make their lives better is to offer my life experience to them, make suggestions, then trust that they'll make the best decision for themselves. I can't live their lives for them and wouldn't want to even if I could.

By LOVING them more than life itself, providing them discipline and structure, feeding them well, and always being there to listen when they need you. I might not be much of a person to the world, but to my kids,I AM a great Daddy. I did the best I could raising them, and sure, I made mistakes, but I never once stopped loving them. To me, that's what can make children's lives better.

How old are they? READ TO THEM!!! Take them to the library, find fun books. It is actually good for their little brains and reading is a very fulfilling activity to do with a child. I do it for my job, so i should know.
