I am trying to concieve. Earlier today I used the bathroom when I wiped there was a small amount of discolored blood (more brown then red). I had some light cramps yesterday too. My period is due next week so I was just wondering if it could have been from straining myself to use the bathroom (I was a little constipated-not to be gross but I figured to get accurate answers I better give all the details) or could I be pregnant and hurt the fertilized egg.

It definantly was coming from my vagina not from my anus. Thank you all for answering.

It's too early to know if you are pregnant or not.The spotting could be implantation bleeding or just from the strain of a forced bowel movemnt. It's impossible for you to hurt the fertilized egg by doing something so harmless as going to the toilet.Wait until a few more days & take a HPT.I hope for your sake,it's positive & that what spotting you had was just a freak incident.Good luck.

Both spotting and cramps before the time you would normally expect them for your period could be signs of pregnancy. Light brown or pink spotting is okay and is considered implantation bleeding and the cramps are considered implantation cramps. The blood should just be there when you wipe, and as far as I know, you shouldn't have to wear a pad. Implantation takes places 6-12 days after conception, so if that's in the right time frame, it could very well be what you're experiencing.

If you are pregnant, I don't believe that you could have hurt the egg from straining to go to the bathroom.

I bleed brown to red blood and hurt while i was miscarrying.

Miscarriage Symptoms
A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks and it is nature's way of ending a pregnancy that is not developing normally. The length of the pregnancy will effect the number and severity of miscarriage symptoms.

A miscarriage that takes place shortly after conception can occur as a slightly late, slightly heavy period. Symptoms can vary from person to person, but there are common ones that generally occur:

Bleeding. This can range from brownish spotting to heavy bleeding. It is important to note that many women experience spotting or bleeding during pregnancy and about 50% of the time, the pregnancy progresses normally.
Pain or cramping in the lower abdominal area. The pain could be on just one side, both sides, or in the middle. You may also experience pain in the genitals, lower back, thighs, or buttocks.
You may notice that pregnancy symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness have subsided or lessoned. Be aware that some women do not notice any change in these symptoms, while others do.
Some women say that didn't "feel right" just prior to their symptoms.
If you are pregnant and experiencing symptoms you should contact your health care provider. If any of the following symptoms occur you should go the Emergency Room immediately:

Heavy bleeding
Passing clots or something that looks like tissue (bring the tissue to the hospital in a clean container)
A fever higher than 100.4 degrees F
Dizziness or fainting
A history of tubal (or ectopic) pregnancy
Severe vomiting
Severe pain the abdomen or back
If you have any uncertainty about the need to contact your health care provider, call him or her immediately.

Take a pregnancy test or go and see your doctor.

Good luck

it may be implantation bleeding. So yes, you might be pregnant. As long as the blood is brown or light pink it is not a problem... you are not hurting the egg. If the bleeding becomes heavier or if it turns bright red, you might me miscarrying (very early on) or you might just be starting your period early. Implantation bleeding usually occurs 10-14 days after ovulation, so this is around the right time. For your sake I hope thats what this is, and not just a sore bum.... wait a couple days and take a pregnancy test like first response, but keep testing, it may still be to early.

I may have been implantation bleeding. Once you are pregnant, straining really hard to use the restroom isn't going to hurt the fetus. You should just wait and see if your perdiod comes when it's due, or not. It could've been from straining to use the restroom if you hurt you anus and cut it a little. All you can really do is wait and see if your period comes. Good Luck!!

Generally speaking blood that is brown, is OLD blood. You may still be pregnant, but not sure it's the best indicator. Since you can spot at the time of implantation and not be pregnant and vice versa. Good luck!

you could be pregnant, or maybe u could be having a miscarriage. it is not uncommon for women to miscarriage before they even know they are pregnant.
but u aren't even due for your period yet so it could be a real early sign that you are expecting. i would wait it out and rest a little until i miss the period and then take a test.

It might be implantation bleeding...which is what happens when an embryo tries to implant in your uterine lining.

You should ask your doctor to be sure, but it is normal to spot. It is called implantation bleeding and is prefectly normal.
