My favorite movie, without reservation, is "The Godfather". Tremendous acting from an ensemble cast. Tremendous adaptation from the original novel. Superb directing and camera work. And a riveting story.
The only movie that approaches this film is it's sequel, "The Godfather Part II".
They are the best two films ever made.

Gone With the Wind is my favorite movie of all time. Not only is it romantic, but it also has adventure and even some humor. But my favorite aspect of it is the character development in the heroine, Scarlett O'Hara. She has to evolve from a spoiled belle to a strong, independent woman. That transformation is painful for her but inspiring and compelling to watch.

My favorite film is Vertigo (1958). It's an incredible artistic masterpiece, and the visionary Alfred Hitchcock's most profound and personal work. It is a tale of love, death, guilt and obsession, and it features highly inventive and creative camera angles, surreal and dream-like cinematography, beautiful San Francisco scenery, and a frightening, career-best performance from the terrific actor James Stewart.

Boy that's a tough one... I can't say I have a favorite movie, but I definitely have a top 100 list where they are all pretty much even.
"City of God", "The Matrix" (only the first one), "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Apocalypse Now", "2001 a Space Odessey", "Amelie", "Spirited Away", just to name a few...

"Awakenings". Robin Williams can do something other than comedy. After seeing the movie I got the book at the library. It's kind of clinical but I'm in the medical profession so the background was even more enlightening.

The Big Sleep - Humphrey Bogart is my favorite and there is never a total resolution at the end of the movie, which is refreshing

Fight Club, because there were really awesome effects, a deep, intersesting plot, and a ripped Pitt! Oh yeah, I love the song "where is my mind?" by the Pixies at the end of the movie. Let's eliminate world debt with explosive soap, yo! :)

Match Point because I like tennins, and Bourne Supremacy, but I don't know why even for the last one.
(My real favorite is one you probably don't know: Wierna Rzeka. It's in Polish. It's poorly made, but I really enjoyed the book!)
