I'm 14 weeks pregnant and I fell really hard on my back. I'm still really worried about my baby even though the fall happened this morning. How long would it take for me to know whether or not the fall hurt the baby or not?

at 14 weeks you do have a great deal of buffer and most likely are just fine. I do think that you should call the doctor and have an appointment to check you out. When it comes to having a baby you really should always call the doctor. If money is an issue you can contact a christian association that will help you out with the cost or try looking for a free clinc. Most areas have them. Call the government and ask.

I fell when I was pregnant directly on my stomach. I think I was about 8 months. I called the doctor and they said if she didn't move in the next hour I should call back and make a trip. They're never too worried unless it was a really big fall. You have so much fluid that the baby really isn't impacted. They can withstand a lot. Oh yeah, and they're bones aren't hard and britle like ours yet.

Honey please go to the doctor. I fell last week, and I was 35 weeks
pregnant, I went to the hospital just because I was scared something happened to the baby, even though I landed hard on my back. Thankfully everything is ok, but they do not know if I did permenant damage to my back. I am now on bedrest and have to monitor myself to make sure I do not go back into preterm labor. If you refuse to go to the doctor or ER, the only signs you would be able to tell at 14 weeks, would be cramping, bleeding and pain, unfortunately by the time that happens its probably to late to help the baby.

The fetus is so small and so well insulated in a bag of amniotic fluid, still predominantly down in your pelvis, that unless you fractured your pelvis, punctured the wall of the uterus, unlikely that anything bad happened.

If, however, you should start bleeding substantially, seek medical care, as that can be a bad sign.

Even without a fall, many conceptuses are lost at this stage anyway. Nature's a cruel mistress.

I have fallen twice during two different pregnancies. One I fell on my stomach and yes did do damage. Was stuck in bed for two months!
During the other pregnancy I fell and it was on my back and the docotr said that unless a woman falls on her stomach or hits it, they usually do not worry. The baby is very well protected by all the amniotic fluid.

You should see your doctor, but the baby is probably fine. The amniotic fluid helps to protect your baby from things like that. It is like hitting the top of a lake...the fish inside won't be hurt. Good luck.

At 14 weeks you should be ok. If theres not bleeding even spotting you should be alright. If really worried, call the doc.

You should call your doctor and get checked out, but most likely the baby is fine. Your baby is very cushioned by your body and all that fluid surrounding it.

I would check with a doctor immediately because your first trimester is over. Better to catch a problem in the early stages before its too late.
