First, let me say that someone who is 14 is not a legal adult and in the eyes of the law they aren't capable of making an adult decision. So for a legal adult to be involved romantically with a child is wrong.

But let's pretend that one person is 20 and the other is 26....same amount of year different, but both are "of age"....is THAT wrong? Regardless of the sexes of the people involved, I would say no as long as you understand that people pair up according to their emotional maturity. So the older one is not as mature, is emtionally only at the level of the younger person. Meanwhile, the younger one is more mature for their age and is probably only attracted to older people.

If you were over 18 and the other person was older then that would be your preference, Your choice Because you are both of legal age.

But when a person of legal age is dating or trying to date a person that is under age ( as you state one is 20 and the other is 14 ) The older person is probably a pervert or pedophile and Breaking the law in most states.
they are just out to manipulate the younger person until another child comes along. It happens allot and they are never punished enough for their crimes.

Be safe stay clear.

Have a nice day

I don't care about older and younger people dating. However, you wrote that the older person is in their 20s and the younger is 14. That's different. The older person is an adult, and the younger is NOT! That is NOT okay!

Well, I wouldn't say wrong, just that there is a certain squick factor. Still, that squick factor is there regardless of the gender preferences.
As for the hypothetical 20 vs. 14, you're getting to a whole different problem. In most states in the U.S., this would be a problem because of perceived pedophilia. The age of consent varies by state.
Depending on how far physically the relationship goes, the elder could be accused of statutory rape and child abuse.

Take intrest in people your own age. The reason most young girls go for older men is becasue they've got some sort of poor or no father figure. Most likely you're looking for comfort form older men because of your looking for a replacement. DMFA, find a boy your age or better yet, wait till you're older!!!!!

Because we've set a legal age of consent that's higer than 14. It's odd that a guy can date a girl if he's 17 and she's 15, but as soon as he turns 18...

i've dated 10 years younger and 17 years older.... age is only as important as YOU make it, not what others make it.

age difference between adults is not wrong. it is totally acceptable. but when one of the couple is a child, it is not just wrong, it is a crime. children are not mature enough to make certain decisions for themselves. they are also quite vulnerable to suggestions made by adults, therefore easily manipulated into doing things that they otherwise would not. children need to be protected from adult predators.

In any scenario, anyone in their 20's dating anyone who is 14 is committing a crime and it's legally & morally wrong.
