The laundry fairies came while I was at work the other day and I really appriciated their help but they washed and dried a load of clothes and didn't check pockets first. Now I have gum all over my work clothes. Help!

Try this:

Put the clothes in the freezer and let the gum harden. Chip off as much as you can. Then try
a commercial product like 'Goo Gone' or 'Oops!' on the remaining residue. It will remove gum, latex paint and a myriad of other villians.

Another option is cooking oil. This breaks down the gum. (Well, it breaks down chewed gum. I don't know about new gum that has gone through the dryer.)

(FYI: Gum in hair? Oil (again) or peanut butter.)

Good luck! Been there. Such an event can be heartbreaking.

I don't know how it will work once washing, but try an icecube with a butter knife. Ice down the gum and then it should come off. I also know that peanut butter/mayo are supposed to work to get it out of your hair so you could try that if the ice doesn't work. Good luck!

(I suggest trying the ice before anything else since if it doesn't work the clothes aren't ruined, whereas mayo/vinegar/etc may leave grease stains)

Take them to your nearest dry cleaner. They have a product made just for that and it works. Have no idea what it is they use, but I took a bedspread in and it came back good as new.

You might even be able to get them to sell you some of it. It is a liquid that you just pour on the gum, wash clothes, and no more gum.

Some ideas I heard on gum: rub peanut butter all over it until gum comes out, or, put the white of an egg on it and leave for a couple of minutes, or, mayonnaise, or vinegar (heated vinegar works faster), or soak the item in lemon juice than wash in regular cycle of washer or put ice on it then break it off. Good luck

Freeze your clothes with the bubble gum. When cold, bubble gum becomes brittle and all you need to do is break it off.

Try freezing the gum spots with ice and then try to remove it, maybe scrape with a dull knife.

Take an Icecube and scrub/rub over the gummy area, and as u do it, it kinda gets rolled in to smaller balls and u can pick it with ur hand.....this is the easiest way that I know of.
