I will preface this by saying, my husband practically sleeps in a coma. I could kick him in the head if I wanted to and it would only cause him to stir; It would not wake him up. (It's really irritating.) Anyway, the other night, he was asleep and I was trying to wake him up because I thought I smelled gas in the house. As I'm trying to wake him up (I was doing so nicely, saying "honey, honey"), he says, in his sleep, "the Dark One says FU*** You!". I said, "what?" and he repeats "the Dark One says FU** You!". Worse, the FU part came out as a growl, both times. My question is, what would YOU make of this? It creeped me out. He had not been watching horror movies or anything. Is Satan present in my home or something? Is my husband possessed? What is in his mind that would cause him to say something like that?

He was DEFINATELY asleep. I'm telling you, you can't wake the man up! I realize he was talking in his sleep, but the talking was brought on by me trying to rouse him and the comments seemed directed at me.

"Satan" is not in your home. "the dark one" he's talking about is the side of him that gets angry at you, for whatever reason, but he doesn't tell you about it. He hides some of his anger, and that has created this "dark one" to him. I would not worry too much about it. Next time, when he's asleep, try laying your hands on his heart, and imagining a soft, gentle, white light eminating from your heart and through your fingertips, and into his body. Visualize it surrounding his body, and calming this "dark one" that he has created within hisself. I hope this helps. :)

He is certainly not possessed. He is experiencing a sleep disorder. And sleep disorders are not to be taken lightly. Please consult a sleep specialist. Im not too sure if it comes under a typical sleep disorder, but have heard of it before. It could be caused by depression. The condition could lead to some dangerous situations like the one you've mentioned. I say again, please consult a sleep specialist.

My brother once shouted "Get the Fking chicken off of me" rolled off the sofa and wet himself on the living room floor. (although I think he may have been drinking that night)

I'd say he's sleep talking. Some peope can hold entire conversations in their sleep.

I do not believe in possession. Be realistic. He was probably in deep sleep. Go to sleep specialist.

get a carbon monoxide detector...first of all. talk to a catholic priest or bishop. it sounds like something spiritual and i probably would not kick him in his sleep for a while until he stops growling at you.

Ok, that would freak me out, too. Did you ask him about it later? That's what I would do. If he doesn't remember, he was probably just sleep talking.
