Well, you already said Sandman, so I'll go with either Preacher or Transmetropolitian

My favorite comic book is: "The life and times of Scrooge McDuck". It is published by Gemstone publishing for the Disney company. I have always enjoyed any comic put out by Disney, but this one tops them all. It is about the life of Scrooge McDuck. It starts with his birth in Scottland and continues with his many adventures to earning his first dime, finding his first gold nugget, all the way to the present time. At the end of each story they tell you about it and many facts behind the story. It even has a neat family tree of Scrooge so you can see how they are all related. The drawings are easy on the eyes, very colorful, and true to the original artists and style of Carl Barks. I highly recommend reading it if you enjoy Disney comics.

Daredevil Vol II when Brian Michael Bendis was writing for it. The storie arcs where very dark, and both them and the art took a very adult turn, adding a great deal of credibility to the series. Also since its not one of Marvels top sellers and by no means an ignored book they are afforded a lot more room interesting work.

Sandman is right up there but I read Kingdom Come recently and after about 15 years it got me into superheroes.
I also really liked jamie delano's run on hellblazer and grant morrison's invisibles.
I think From Hell May be one of the best pieces of sequential art ever.

Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. A classic among most comic book fans. I echo other statements here, but yes, many try to emulate this title.

Sorry guys but it has to be the Fantastic Four. Reason being all the ground that they broke over the years. Memerable villians such as Dr. Doom, Galactus, Centenials, and many many more.

Nuff Said.

Uncanny X-Men when John Byrne and Chris Claremont were on the book. It's action, in-depth characterization, and plots made it THE comic of its time.
