Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" because of the way she writes, the way her characters seem to become real people in the reader's own life, and the manner in which she portrayed the "uglier" side of what we see as pristine Regency lifestyles.

LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
It is a masterpiece of a sensuous prose, something I could consider as a great living Spanish classic. It has quite an epic theme that embodies wisdom and patience of age. You might want to check it out and experience Marquez's magical realism.

I love, love Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre." Her writing style just sucks you in and you become lost in Jane's world, feeling her love and anguish. It was such a risque book at that time because women weren't really allowed to do anything, so for a woman to write a book about a woman's feelings and just the subject matter itself (a governess falling for her employer) is just amazing. If you haven't read it, you should check it out.

Of Mice and Men, my all time favorite. It is great and also an easy read. I enjoy reading it when I don't really have a lot of time to finish a long book.
