I started using curcumin (turmeric) to try to help some digestion problems. It didn't work but I noticed a pain in my foot that I have had for a while went away. It hasn't come back for a couple years of use. Also, I previously experienced pain in my neck, through tightness caused by stress and it became difficult to move my neck. I went to an acupuncturist and it worked very well.

I worked at a pain clinic for some time and saw all types of pain. It usually depends on what the main reason for the pain is. Then you treat accordingly. Everyone's pain threshold is different also. For minor daily aches and pains or headaches I have seen acupressure work great. No side effects and doesn't need to go all through your body to work.

Have you ever tried Homeopathic medicines? They are all natural with no side effects and can be safely combined with anything. Most health food stores carry them and they usually have something for each type of pain, but a good one we have always used for pain is Arnica. A combination of two or more usually works the best. However, they are most effective if taken an hour after food, drink, and smoking and two hours before (water is ok during this time).

I have a herniated disc and it acts up once in awhile. It is the inflamation in the area that causes the pain and restriction of movement. I have been taking 900 mg of Tumeric which is an herb used in food. It works very well for me. I never think about my back anymore. Take it once a day. It is worth a try, depending on what your pain is and what is causing it. Tumeric is a great anti-inflamatory. Better than taking perscription I think. No side effects.

Dr. Weintraub, nuerologist, has been studying magnets for pain. He was interviewed by the Discovery Channel. His theory is that when a nerve is firing a pain signal, the magnet will re-polarize the nerve, shutting it off.

for headache pain or the beginnings of a migraine I have been taking two 500mg of ginger root capsules and two 500mg of feverfew capsules that I purchase from the health food store and seems to work most of the time if I take it at the onset of a headache.
