Okay, I'm 13, and I'm having a garage sale right now to sell all my crap(I have a LOT of crap)andit's doing really good. I know how you feel about the babysitting...ugh! By the way, people, you can't get a job at a pizzaria or anything when you're 13. It's against the law, plus you have to pay taxes.

Prevail upon your parents, relatives, let them know you'll need a little capital to be a player in life. Sharebuilder has a plan for this, get them into it, take contributions from aunts, uncles, etc.
They will open your account with a small amount of money.

As of today, try 100 shares of HD, CAT should be good, take a long term flyer on SUNW for a round lot of 100 with 1 risky.

If you can get the bosses to let you have around $15,000 to invest, tell them you can pay for your own college in return for the loan to buy the stocks, and you probably can ! Maybe they could even get you set up on margin, play a little higher stakes game that way, more stocks.

You might think this is a joke, but you don't know until you ask.
Financial markets offer best way to make real money, & forever, in today's world.

Next to that, doctoring is good, young Dr.'s now, with any specialty tag, are looking at $700,000 to $900,000 per year in no time out of college. Lets get serious about life.

Otherwise, if you can sing and dance, join my troops. I'm an old man, represent as an Agent, 3 or 4 Hillbilly Rock Stars who get a couple hundred thousand per show.

Since it's currently summer, you could try mowing lawns for some extra cash. It's not incredibly hard work, unless you live in a neighborhood with huge yards. It usually pays pretty decently, as well.

In most areas, you're probably still far too young to be eligible for a part time job. Although, I heard Chick-Fil-A hires as young as fourteen, which wouldn't apply to you anyways.

I would suggest doing yard work.

If you are not interested in dog walking, landscaping (planting flowers, weeding, watering, raking leaves, etc), grocery shopping/errand running for the elderly, selling cookies at school, or selling homemade all natural dog cookies to the local pet shop or doggie daycare center, then you should make a profit at something you enjoy doing. If you enjoy painting, then sell hand painted T-shirts for example. Good luck.

You're 13! No real business can hire you legally. You have to start somewhere, so babysitting and chores are your only options. 13 yr olds don't need money anyway, relax this summer.

Start a dog cleaning service. Charge ten dollars per dog per week and clean up each location twice per week. Dogs are crapping and it needs to be cleaned up. Nobody wants to clean up after their dogs.

Equipment Needed

Pooper scooper
Disinfectant for the scooper - you don't want to spread stuff from yard to yard if a dog is sick. Customers will think you know your stuff.
Trash bags

Go to your local newsagent and ask about getting a paper round.
Surely that's the perfect after school job for someone your age.

You can find a small family-owned business and volunteer for them -- once they like you they might hire you (worked for me when I was 12 -- worked for them for two years -- until I was 14!)
