omg its really sad that they lost. i still cant get over it. i think portugal was BRILLIANT! im not portuguese in any way but i love them so much! especially cristiano ronaldo! he's like my inspiration! omg i really wanted them to win. if they had a bit more luck and henry hadnt gotten that penalty kick, portugal so wouldve won! and we wouldve been cheering on for them now! but i guess its alright. portugal has made it this far! and we should be so damn proud of it! portugal showed a great game all the way through! but dont its not over yet! portugal vs germany! PORTUGAL ALL THE WAY! i love u even if u didnt get the title! ur still the best in my heart!

yes, i really wanted to see the game against france bcoz the two of the greatest players to play at the world cup will meet again as captains of two different teams instead of playing for the same team. Luis Figo (POR) vs Zinedine Zidane (FRA)
i dont believe portugal didnt play professionally bcoz after the game the two captains hugged each other and exchanged jerseys. it just shows that portugal accepted the fact that they ddint make it into the finals.
nevertheless, im still very proud of portugal!

FOr DJ: NO it was NOT zidane who got the penalty kick. it was HENRY who got fouled but they picked zidane to do it for them bcoz obviously he has rarely missed a penalty and it was almost a sure thing. so again, it was HENRY WHO GOT THE PENALTY AND NOT ZIDANE, he only kicked it.

about the wink, i dont even think ronaldo did the wink bcoz of wat happened to rooney. think about it, why would he? and he didnt go against rooney. he did not ask for the red card. he only complained about the foul. go read about it on the fifa website.

!!! Radwan !!! thanx for seeing that. they had amazing players! RICARDO was an EXCELLENT goalie and he was one of the best. and thats exactly why portugal got into the semi finals. they were one of the last four teams. figo, c. ronaldo, deco, costinha, etc. were amazing players. i dont get why ppl criticize portugal bcoz they've never been able to bring a title home with them. i just dont get it. judge the team by how well they play and YOU PPL KNOW THAT PORTUGAL PLAYED WELL. and they almost beat france. i bet portugal even gave the french a scare. but the french are also good dont get me wrong.

for Arcadia: thats not true at all. portugal was never a warfreak team. they hav gone over 46 games and has never gotten a player sent off (red card) until the game with the Netherlands. they were pushing it. and the referee lost total control.

Arcadia - France only won due to that PK (bought by the way). If it had been another team they would not have gotten called on it. Portugal played just as well as France, I think even better. The booing of the French supporters trying to make C. Ronaldo lose concentration did not work. We had better and more chances to score, just bad luck it was always over the crossbar. If it hadn't been for that bad PK, it would have gone to PK's in the end. Either way, we are very proud how far Portugal has gone. All you haters can say that they cheated their way in, but that's just racism and jealousy talking. The team has been amazing under the influence of Filipao. They deserved to have gotten this far and they deserved to win the last game. Nothing against France, since I have family there, but Portugal will always be #1. Even though France won against Portugal, I do hope they win the whole thing. Brazil, Italy and a few others have been so sure that they were going to take it all. I have heard French, Brazilian and English supporters, almost from the beginning, saying that they were going to win. You never heard French, Portuguese and some others convinced and saying it on TV that they were going to win. I'll be glad that a team who's been so quiet over the course of this WC will take the cup.

Im not at all surprised Portugal lost. They have ridden their luck for the whole tournament, and create only half chances which they are unable to turn into goals. Figo used to be good but he is now old and tired, plus he headbutted a player against Holland behind the ref's back,which was dispicable. Christiano Ronaldo is a pointless show-off, who tried a few clever tricks which achieved absolutely nothing and got him nowhere. The whole team has been dirty and cynical, and always trying to con the ref.
In the end they just were not good enough, and were very lucky to get as far as they did. France deservedly beat them, England were really unlucky to lose only on the penalty shoot-out to them, and Holland were much better than them but were fouled off the pitch by Portugal.
Their keeper Ricardo was their best player. But I am pleased they have lost, because they did not deserve to get that far.

Hi..First it was Zidane that got the penalty kick..I really tried to like Portugal but I can not..Their fouling and rolling on the floor I do not like...C Ronaldo is well not what you make him out to be, the way he went against his friend Rooney, wink and a hush that was un-excusable...The Italy and France game will be tough one...and lets hope Italy does not do the rolling around the floor demo;..Ha..

I admit that I was hoping Portugal would win but was more disappointed by their lack of professionalism on the field than the fact they lost. They've got too much talent to let the melodramatics get in the way. In the end it lost their being perceived as having played a good game by tarnishing their images a whinners and/or cheaters. Not that I necessarily agree with it all - its just a statement of fact as can be seen repeatedly in the questions posted.

Since world cup campage started, I have been standing up people about who going to win world cup and which is the best. And my team is Portugal all along. But the nightmare came when they played against France I wasn't there to watch the game. Since then I have been blaming myself for being in the final and one of the most important of all seeing Figo v Zozo.
No Doubt Portugal is the wining team to me, but seeing Zozo in the final is almost as good as Portugal itself beside going for third is better then second to me.
