No, absolutely not (not successfully at least, maybe you'll always sell a handful of a bad product though...but you will not make money). As others have mentioned, the product needs to fit a need, even if it's a need that some people think to be unreasonable (for example, even though most people don't "need" a pair of Uggz boots, some people feel that they do since Britney Spears wears them and buying a pair fills a "need" to be fashionable and trendy...another example would be Pokemon toys: they fulfill the need for children to fit in socially with their friends). Something that doesn't fulfill a need for some segment of the population, no matter how silly the need may be, will never sell.

You're probably not old enough to remember the Pet Rock fad at Christmas in the '70s. Many department stores were selling regular old rocks in some clever packaging for $4.99 (Probably $20 in today's dollars).

I would say no, but then I read this article in Inc. magazine this month about a guy who is making millions selling worm poop packaged in used soda bottles plucked from garbage cans.

So, I guess so....

haha, i wouldnt doubt it. theres always someone out there.

some one once sold air that was within 15 ft of brad pitt. they captured the air in a jar and sold it for alot of money dont remember the figures but i know it happened... ebay
