I'm just tired of the liberals' belly aching about the evil conservatives and the conservatives mockery of real American values. Now I know that this really applies to Dems and Reps, but it is just sad to me that there are so few officers in our government that have a true vision of the future and not just there own pocket books. In the words of Phil Collins, "They're all the same, it's just a shame, that's all."

You are right, what we need is a President who can bring all factions to the table and strike out agreements. I believe that the dissension in the country starts at the top. When they leader can't get anyone to agree on anything and won't compromise people get their backs up. Usually after an election things quiet done and the business of America gets done. Thank heavens an election will be coming up soon. Now if we could get them to actually run a campaign on facts------------

BINGO! Thank you for setting the record straight.

I don't agree with your comment on conservatives, but that's not my point.

Both sides have resorted to nothing but rhetoric. Neither side has the ability to do any of the crazy left-wing or crazy right-wing stuff they jabber on about. And neither side is willing to focus on how to do things better. They would all rather sit and wait for one misplaced word, and then pounce on the offender. None of this does any good for our country.

I heard one idea that could make a difference. Instead of a team running for President and VP, have the people run solo. Whoever gets the most votes is President. Whoever gets the second most is Vice-President.

The same could be done in the Senate, since there are two seats from each state. No matter what they talk about, they end up having to work with each other.

NO NO and NO!

We read different books, magazines, watch different shows, cable news, vote for different people, live in different areas, have different social groups, disagree fundamentally on almost every issue.

Liberals used to complain, "If you don't like the network news, go create your own network." We did, along with creating everything else.

It is better to separate into different states all together or perhaps divide the country at the Mississippi River: Liberals get the West, Conservatives get the East. There is NO WAY to bridge the gap, and I don't want it to be bridged anyway.

There is no compromise, and separation is the only way to avoid bloodshed.

Doesn't seem possible, everytime you ask a serious question you get attacked from both sides. If you try to answer a serious question, they don't listen. I always try to answer seriously, I think most just are looking to verify their own beliefs instead of learning others. That's why you see retarded best answers all the time like "because Liberals hate America" even when the question is for Liberals. That kinda makes me urk a little!!

Liberals like to get in the way of passing any real legislation, because they want Bush to look like a lame duck.

Conservatives do not have the votes to pass anything because there are too many liberal republicans. It also appears that they lack the backbone to do anything in an election year because they are abandoning their base to fish for more moderate votes.

I think it's nearly impossible. The ideals are so far divided, I can't see meeting halfway.

Like on abortion, what do we do, just abort half the baby? And gay marriage, how do we meet on that? And welfare, one side believes we should all pitch in and help keep those people down while the other side believes we should provide/create jobs for them.

That's a just a couple instances, where is the middle?

No, not possible, other wise there would be no such thing as liberals and conservatives. Libs will keep attacking more and more with each election they lose. They are such a tiny minority in this country, they really dont count and this makes them even more bitter

Conservatives do attack issues...Liberals sit around and *****. How many conservatives do you see protesting things? Not a lot because they are too busy carrying out solutions. You should try following politics a little closer.

... Republicans have the congress and the presidency... short of a filabuster, there's nothing the dems can do to stop them from doing whatever they want...

but I haven't heard of much action? and no filabusters? weird huh?

all they have to do is start legislating?

they still blame everything on Clinton from 6 years ago?

poop or get off the pot..
