Guess what? The evil rich are paying high gas prices too. As for spending money on Iraq, at least it's serving a useful purpose there. If we were spending an additional trillion dollars on welfare, it would just be supporting a growing dependency on government.
By the way, those Republicans hate middle-class folks like me so much, they cut my taxes. That's after those loving, compassionate Democrats jacked up my taxes in the 90's.

Gases prices haven't got much to do with the Republicans. IF you want to see where gas price increases come from, see sources
1. price per barrel of oil
2. Federal tax of 18.4 cent gal. plus, State Avg 20-25 cent gal. IF you care to look carefully you'll see that the top 4 states charging 30 cents or more per gallon are ALL BLUE STATES. DEMOCRAT STATES. And the high the price of gasoline goes, the more tax you pay.
Add to that simple supply and demand. That means the more thats used the less supply thats available. If you need to control the supply, you need to increase price to slow demand. Demand is up, get used to it.
Now for the war. If you don't get it now, you never will. Maybe your grandkids will and they'll be the ones thanking the vets when they one day understand.
If it was for welfare, you'd be doing nothing more than enabling a bunch of bums.
Republicans support big business, yes they do and proudly. Grow business and you grow the economy keeping the middle class well employed. No one pays more taxes than big business. So that one day when you do lose your job and need help, the government can and will be there.
You want welfare, goto Venezuela with Cindy.

The Republicans do not hate the middle class, they are the party of that class. Republicans believe in small government and low taxes.
The Democrats believe in big government and high taxes to take care of the lower class.
The government had nothing to do with high gas prices. Both sides of Congress voted on the war in Iraq.
Better to ask why the President and Congress don't authorize the military to end the war by destroying the enemy with an all-out campaign. Blow the bad guys up, and get out when they're all dead.

Let's see, everyone had the same information about WMD. Going into Iraq was not divided along party lines, at least not when those in power cast their vote.
We get there and terrorists invade the country. So, we've found over 500 WMD's but the territory changed and now we're fighting terrorists.
Consumption of oil in India and China has risen dramatically, and you know all about supply and demand right?
Granted it is a lot of money, a whole lot of money. But we've got to finish the job before pulling out.
And you're right, spending that much on welfare would have brought quite a few loud screams.

Republicans don't hate the middle class most of us are middle class. The idea that Republicans HATE any group is just more Democratic Propaganda used to propagate the idea that it is the Republicans who are elitists when in reality it is the liberal democrats that want to strip away the rights of all Americans to accumulate wealth and aspire to be anything more than a member of the working class. Leaving Barbara Streisand and Micheal Moore and the rest of their Hollywood brethren to steal from the rich and give to the poor just so long as they get to keep up the life style they are accustomed to. I mean after all it gets so tiring looking down upon all the little people all the time and they do tend to get in the way of their cocktail parties and summers in the Hamptons!

Gas prices are set by gas companies. The money spent on Iraq is a huge amount, granted, but what price do you put on the lives of the people killed on 9/11/01?

Well, one reason gas prices are so high is because the tree huggin' libs won't allow drilling in the Gulf or ANWAR.
And you gotta love the wonderful Democrat governor of New Jersey increasing sales tax (which everyone pays) and reducing property tax (which only those wealthy enough to afford a home pay).
Not everything is Bush's fault, you know...

Republicans don't hate the middle class, they just want to use it to their advantage. Bush(His controllers) is trying do shrink government by bankrupting it. Soon all government spending will be reduced to military and police functions (including courts and prisons) with the multi-trillions of debt being paid off by the middle class to the rich public debt holders. At that point we will have to change the name of the country to SQUATAMALA

Enough with the generalizations...I'm a Libertarian (to you, worse than a Republican, farther right)...and I AM poor. Enough government meddling, enough rising taxes, enough taking what little money I earn and giving it to people who don't feel like working, enough war, enough with the "green" cars that cost more than someone like me can afford, enough with the high gas prices when the Dems vote against oil drilling. Enough with the Democrats who dream up more ways for the government to interfere in my life and take food out of my childrens' mouths with more and more social programs and taxes!
