Corneal ulcers are not the end of your eyesight. I've had them before. Yes, a specialist is your best choice. Based on personal experience, he'll probably give you a cream antibiotic to apply daily for about a week. He may also put a patch over your eye for a day or two, to keep natural eye movements from irritating it further. Cheer up, you'll be good as new in a week.

Go see your specialist, ask him or her questions and listen to what they say.

My daughter was recently diagnosed with a very rare eye disease, Punctate Inner Choroidopathy, PIC for short. I have learned about many things that can go wrong with eyes, and have great respect for the doctors who fight to save our eyesight.
