Everyone will have a varying opinion. I prefer hot over warm, cool, or cold.
I grew up in massachusetts...I had enough of the cold. I now live in Florida.
If you lived outdoors, I'd have to choose cold only because you can build fires, pile on layers of clothing etc...and there are no bugs (which personally is the real selling point.)
However...if you don't live in a tent etc... and have a roof over your head with air conditioning, and especially if you have access to a lake, an ocean or pool...I'd choose hot. I hate wearing layers, and itchy hats, and all that. I don't like my eyes stinging or nose running and ears burning from the cold. Sunburns are easy to avoid (and you can easily get them in winter as well) I'd rather just wear a t-shirt and shorts, and be comfortable, not to mention the ability to go swimming everyday. (I wouldn't want to swim if it were just warm, you'll be freezing when you get out of the water) To always have a day where you can have fun outdoors, drive with the windows down if you want. No one's going to play tennis in sleet.
I'd much rather it be hot all year. If only I could rid the world of mosquitos it'd be perfect.

Cool weather is the best. I think cold would be better than hot.

Hot. After living in cold for 40 years, I find it much easier to cool down when I am hot than it is to warm up when cold. 5 degrees cooler will help you cool down but if it is 0 degrees out and it is now 5 degrees, it is still cold!

I've always prefered cold weather over hot. One can always layer on more clothes, one can only legally take so much off.

I guess it all depends on each and every one of us. Some people like it hot, some like it cold, and some like it warm. Then again, it might just have to do with a person's demograph. If a person lives in a hotter climate, they'll most likely be miserable in a colder climate, and vice versa.
