Ok, to see the trick of the "mind reader", just do what it asks you to do a few times on a few numbers. I noticed that numbers 99-90 all equal 81 after doing what it says. All numbers from 89-80 all equal 72 after doing what it says ETC... So our magic numbers are 81, 72, 63, 54, 45, 36, 27, 18, 9, and 0. You will notice that the symbols on all of these numbers are the EXACT same. The number you choose will always equal ones of these "magic" numbers, and since all the symbols are the same, there is no way to trick the mind reader unless you do something wrong about doing what it says. This is how your mind reader works. Enjoy bragging to your friends!

It's simple math. The chart changes every time, but it's based on the fact that a two digit number can be written

a+b*10 = ab where a and b are the digits in the number

so a+b*10-(a+b) is what it asks you to do,

b*10-b is the equation for generating the table, so it really only matters what the second digit is. To get the answer, the table is generated so that whatever number you choose, the number b*10-b will be underneath the ball.

second digit 1 -> 9
second digit 2 -> 18
second digit 3 -> 27
second digit 4 -> 56
and so on....

So the numbers 9, 18, and 27 and the rest in the sequence will all have the same symbol beside them (the same symbol as under the ball). It doesn't matter what the rest of the symbols are because the trick is that you will always choose the symbol beside one of these numbers due to the equation you are forced to choose from.

If you don't believe me, just look at the symbol beside 18, and it will always be the symbol that appears in the cystal ball

I noticed that every time I subtracted the total of the two digits from the original number I got a number represented by the little flower thing. Did anyone else get another symbol? I'm guessing there's some sort of relationship between the digits and the original number so that subtracting can give you only a limited number of options, all of which can be represented by one symbol. I'm no matematician and I would like to hear what someone who knows numbers would say.

It's a VERY old trick. It took all the possible answers and put the same symbol for them. Usually, to confuse people, the symbol would change everytime you answer. But here, this lazy and dumb person didn't put that.
Summary: Every possible answer is represented by the Flowery - like thing. -_-

It only works because of the odds of picking the number, They use the same symbol for many numbers, lol

ok, each time you try it, it reassigns symbols to each number. only certain numbers can be created through their little math problem, and all of those numbers have the same symbol each time. so it doesnt matter what number you pick. it knows it will be one of the only possible numbers, and because those numbers all have the same symbol, it just shows that symbol.
