i'm 25 my mom is very sick she has diabetes and heart problems out of 5 of her children i am the only one who has been there for every doctor appointment ever er visit for everything. i still live at home cuz of the constant care she needs since she had her stroke and just pass's out without warning. i put my life on hold to devote everything that i can to her. you maybe thinking that it is wrong of me to to do that but the way i believe is that my mom could have aborted me but she kept me raised was there for ever ear operation i had and there was many of them, she was there for me in the hospital when she should have been working, she worked and gave up on smoking and things that she needed so i could get the hearing aids i need to have to hear. when i was a teen she gave up alot of her time to deal with me throught the bad times. so in return i give her the favor by taking care of her and doing as she did with me. i think she deserves everything i can do for her just as she did for

I think you're doing spectacular thing. A lot of kids now days don't give their parents any respect any more really. My sister was getting paid to take care of my mom, but I was the one rubbing her back , putting icy hot on her back, sanding her feet, putting lotion on her feet, getting the foot spa out for her feet also running all her errands. If I was to be getting paid for taking care of her instead of my sister, 300 of the 400 some odd dollars would have gone to help pay bills so I would have felt like I was contributing, but I feel like a bumb.

My little girl's father, he has a 2 year old and he leaves him all thetime with his mother to take care of. So I'm glad you're taking care of your mom, but you need to take time out for yourself too, there is no shame in that. Kick you siblings bottoms and tell them to help out, they owe her too.

You are not wrong in your thinking, you are an angel. I wish my kids would think the way you do. Our parents do so much for us growing up we should be there for them when and if they need us. Please check with your community they should have something set-up to assist you and sometimes they have special days that you can bring you mom to for a few hours so you can have some time for yourself, as well as a support group for you. Good luck and best wishes

you are an angel..as your mom has been to you... but honey.. we all need to take the time to take care of ourselves too at times..remember you are the only one who can make you happy.. this is your life too.. not that I encourage you to leave your responsibilties.. but please spend time on yourself and what you love.. only then are you healthy enough to help anyone.. plus you will feel better about your responsibilities.. God Bless..and good liuck.
