Well, first off, every country has their own form of Martial Arts. Originated in China I believe.

Martial Arts is a term meaning basically the art of war: and that started around the time that there were enough people to fight with.

All cultures have warred since the beginning of time .. all that "martial arts" means is the art of war ... I suppose some of the earliest professional trained "martial artists" fought in the arenas of Rome although you can also include any structured military training from as far back as you want as "martial arts"

I don't know for sure there have been forms of martial arts all over the world for centuries it's kind of difficult to say who's first
