I used to love watching John Wayne movies when I was younger and I want to start watching them again with my boyfriend. He's never really watched any. What one would you suggest to be the first one to get us started?

I would say Sons of Katie Elder, McLintock, Big Jake, or Rooster Cogburn for a Western lover.

Or my personal favorite...The Green Berets...

McClintock is a great and funny too. Also Rio Lobo with Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, and Walter Brennan. A good WW2 movie would be In Harms Way with Kirk Douglas.

Red River has been my favorite John Wayne movie ever since it was released. Montgomery Clift is also one of my favorite actors of that era and he does an outstanding job in this movie.
