Tell me three negative things about yourself. Course, sometimes people try to cheat and say things that are really good, but try to spin it. A more direct question would be: why shouldn't I hire you?

Course, you could always go with the old standard: What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Tell me something you did badly and failed at and how you recovered, or what did you learn from it? What is your biggest weakness and why would it not prevent you from doing a good job for us? Do you think you're better than anyone else? If you get angry with your boss, would you try to do something destructive, like wipe out the company database or steal the list of customer names? Why not? Tell me how you dealt with the last really mean person--like the person asking these questions--at your job site. How many times have you blamed the other guy for your own mistakes?

1. Why are you applying at THIS company? Why not XYZ Company?

2. Why do you think you are worth (name salary)?

3. Give me three examples that illustrate your superiority as a candidate for this position.

Of course, you can never ask:

1. Can you spell?

2. Can you add?

3. Are you going to be here for a year, and then get Baby Love, drop out for six months, and then expect me to not only keep your position open, but also expect to stay in line for promotions?

like something else of the answerers, that's certainly a respectable and a strong question to ask. once you ask this question it shows you're in touch and also you're weighing in case you could dedicate a huge quantity of dedication to this employer. in simple terms be trustworthy, and ask right away: "i have observed this postion become open for one of those lengthy time period, would you already know why?" leave it open ended and do not leap to conclusions that it is a extreme-turnover interest, or something else because it would lead the communique negatively.

Too easy.

Ask them

"What makes you think you're the best person for the job?"
When they're done....ask then
"And you think that's a good enough reason to consider you?"
when they answer
"Is that all you have to offer for consideration?"
when they answer
"Well, with as little information you have provided, would you hire yourself under those circumstances?"

That oughta do it.
