Dr feelgood
I don't think I did a very good job expressing my point this time. What it really boils down to is that If you make public statements against the president you should be ready for people to respond (even criticize) your comments. It seems that simply because she lost her son Cindy Shehan has a licence to attack the president but no one else has the right to call her on it.

As for the greyhound well I think we are going to wait until summer is over. I live in AZ and think it will be easier to get used to a dog in the winter time.

What press are you talking about, "openly slobbers", you're exaggerating just a bit. Ann Coulter is a pundit who makes her living bashing liberals via appearances and BOOKS, when an author plagiarizes it is open season on them. Cindy Sheehan is a private citizen who lost her son in the unjust Iraqi war, Ann Coulter is a professional author who unfortunately is published, if you can't see the difference, then you've got problems. How's the greyhound coming?

The right to criticize our government is guaranteed by the Constitution. Ann Coulter and her fellow extremists deserve to be criticized for trying to take away that right. In other words, Ann Coulter is the real hypocrite, because she's bashing people for having the same freedom of speech she exercises, simply because she doesn't agree with them.

Where is this "liberal media" I keep hearing about? I look around and I see pundits like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and the entire staff of Fox News speaking from farther to the right than the government. Who other than Michael Moore speaks out for the opposing view? Can anyone name even one liberal who can match Rush Limbaugh's daily rants?

Ethan, the "new media" bashes Cindy Shehan just as much as they support Ann Coulter. Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice. It goes both ways. Having said that, your example does fit the definition.

Absolutely. You have to understand that the media is biased, and the left is so far out there, they are so blinded by rage and hate that they can not understand such an idea. As long as the media has its bias, they will only report one side of the issue.

Understand, the left thinks that they are entitled to power, and this just amounts to what a child would do when they do not get their way. They kick and scream and throw little tantrums. Yet they still do not get votes and wonder what is wrong with everyone else, instead of themselves. So they try to win elections by using courts.

Until they can come up with any kind of positive message, instead of just blinding rage and hate, they will never win another election.

It's one thing to give some leeway to those who have lost loved ones. Any of us in that position would most likely say things in an emotional context that would normally be wrong, but are excused given the situation. However, if you continue to use those lost loved ones as a political prop years later, you're fair game in my eyes. You're no longer exempt, because it's not just an emotional response after several years.

I sympathize with Cindy Sheehan and the NJ widows over their losses. It's cruel to see your loved one(s) taken from you like that. However, the fact that they use their bereaved status to political advantage years later is disgraceful, and is open to criticism in my book.

The President actually has things he needs to be held accountable for. Those women do not. Ann Coulter is jealous that she wasn't a 9/11 widow.

That is exactly correct.Michael Moore at an awards banquet was talking about how he and thers can say anything they wish at any time while bashing Bush. After the show while talking to a reporter he said that the people opposing him (protesters against him and his kind) should have been banned from speaking. Most liberals do not want anyone to have rights of any kind. They simply want things their way. This is why I see most liberals as Communists.

It isn't that she challenged them, it is that she used libelous insults.

Criticizing Democrats for using victims as spokespeople is a legitimate point (although Republicans are just as guilty - just watch a rebroadcast of one of Bush's State of the Union speeches).

Calling them harpies, and suggesting they enjoyed their husbands / sons deaths isn't legitimate debate. It's crass insults.

Oh, and she's likely guilty of at least three instances of plagiarism in the book and a multitude more in her columns. She is under investigation and may be dropped by her syndicator. And if you think that's liberal backlash, it's Conservative Rupert Murdoch's paper that started it all.

So, no it isn't hypocracy to criticise her for using insults as a part of political debate. And it's perfectly fair to use insults when referring to her because that's her weapon of choice. She has no credibility and deserves no repsect because she isn't taking part in legitimate debate.

If she wants to be taken seriously, she'll stop slandering and libeling her opponents. Otherwise, she's nothing more than a shrill bookseller and you guys all fall for it.

Unless you can post proof that Michael Moore said exactly that, then I don't believe you. And if you're talking about a paid event, that's different. You're free to say anything you like outside the hall. You are not free to disrupt a public event that people have paid to see (even if it's free). I can stand on the sidewalk in front of your house (public property) and say whatever I'd like about you (as long as it's provably true). I cannot come into your living room and expect the same right.

Hypocrisy is having a brain and not using it like you do constantly.
Your questions are right out of the FOX News channel. Seriously Ethan, here is a question we should be asking....."Are you naturally stupid or did you take a course?" Do you have any beliefs that are your own or are you just a puppet for right wing news organizations? The question you are asking like most of the ones you ask are straight from the Sean hannity show. Do some honest research and grow some character of your own man.....please do yourself that favor...you will thank me for it Ethan.

I think people give some flexibility to those that have lost people because of terror and the war... they are speaking out of emotion, because they lost a loved one... and maybe I would do that too... I can see that...

I guess conservatives don't care about the people that have lost others due to terror or the war on terror?

and Coulter calls a lot of names too... so you're crying that we call them back? THAT'S HYPOCRISY!
