I don't recall him saying that he intended to willfully violate federal laws, in the process violating his duty to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed. I don't recall him saying the he promised to bypass constitutional requirements and violate his oath of office to uphold the constitution.
But if he did promise to do those violations during the campaign, I'd say he is living up to that promise with a vengeance.

One of the things that many people will not remember/realize is that George Bush was passionate about domestic issues. He wanted to increase reading and writing proficiency and bring more power to the states rather than the federal gov't. However, 9-11 screwed that plan and forced him to become increasingly active in foreign affairs. I know he is only about 40% popular right now, but people have to realize, he is the first president since 9-11, and a lot of this stuff is new territory. Yes there have been mistakes, but Clinton had his share, and so did Reagan, and Carter, and Nixon, and George Washington. So for some people to scream and whine every day (Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy) is really unfair. And instead of helping this president sort out national security issues, they attack him and say everything he does is wrong, rather than offer a valid solution. Although, I must admit, that the Republicans don't help him much either. It is an unfortunate biproduct of the democracy we have...everyone wants their own power, especially within party lines. No one wants to help anyone else out (with the exception of a few here and there)...people will bash the Iraq war, but Saddam was just as much like Kim Jong Il.....but no one sees that....funny how everyone wants military power with N. Korea now, but not with Iraq in 2003.....it's all politics, not best-interest for this country.....
to CONCERNEDCIT....treason? He didn't turn his back on the country like countless Libs...you need a history lesson my friend

Before you people come on here and start bashing President Bush think about this what the HELL DID BILL CLINTON DO FOR US!!! Bill Clinton pretty much turned his presidency into a flippin porno. He spent more time screwing his interns then he did looking out for his country and fellow Americans. If he would have done his part when he was in office President Bush would not be having to deal with all of this. Things would be a lot better. Let me remind you Clinton was impeached and Bush was voted in 2 times so if that doesn't tell you anything you are a dumb ***. President Bush is a very good President who is doing a good job in office. Tell me one thing that he is doing that is so wrong?

Certainly not. If democracy survives, the history books will someday call Bush the Hitler of the 21st century. His violations of the Bill of Rights and other abuses of power would have been considered treason in the early days of this country, when our freedom had just been won and people still valued it. Tragically, we live in a political climate where people will willingly and knowingly give up all of their constitutional rights (except the right to bear arms, which is meaningless without the others) just for the illusion of feeling a little safer. I can't help recalling the scene in Star Wars Episode 3 when Palpatine declared himself Emperor and Padme Amidala quietly said, "So this is how liberty dies, to thunderous applause."

No. Even those who like him have to admit he has fulfilled few promises.
That said, I don't really get too worked up about campaign promises, because a candidate is lucky to get 15% of them turned into anything concrete. The sad thing about Bush's lack of follow-through is that his party has control of both houses as well.

even perchance extra. the reason Obama is operating so demanding is because he would not choose all the failings he has labored so demanding for with the usual public in ideas overturned and/or revoked by using the different celebration of folk who he thinks does not fairly have the usual public in ideas. in ordinary words themselves...
