Wow! I get to use the same answer to basically the same question within less than a few seconds. 4 points for me....I asked that question earlier last week. Click on my profile and feel free to check out some of the answers that I got back then. Will be interesting to see if since then opinions have changed as a result of competitions becoming more intense. I still think it would be a good idea if only to validate double yellow cards and red cards. I also think that a lot of diving would be effectivly eliminated if the players knew there was no way for them to escape being caught.

Playback? You mean instant replay review? Then again I'm not from a rugby nation.

The reason FIFA do not do that is look at how long it has taken FIFA to join the technological age. I mean, they are just not with it--the offsides rule is outdated, why not have three refs?...I mean, basketball on a smaller playing surface does...hell, NFL football has a zillion officials...even hockey has gone to two refs to stop the diving crap.

Soccer is locked it a past century...and I'm not talking the 20th.

I personally find the enjoyment of the game is due to the uninterupted play.. Unlike other sports where things get bogged down.. With the one referee and his 2 assistants, there should be enough people on the field to make snap decisions.. You must keep in mind that there is a LOT of theatrics on the part of the players when they are (so called) injured..

I get the feeling that during the 2010 World Cup we might just have instant replays introduced for the first time in the WC.

some people say that if they did have it, it would stop the flow of the game and that the flow is what makes football great and they dont want to ruin that "flow" i think it would be better if they did have the instant replays, as long as it didnt take up a lot of time.

because the clock never stops running, so basically any long interuption could be enough to make a team mad(especially if theyre losing, and have a few minutes left to catch up). thats what i like about soccer, "football", unlike american football, there are no injury time-outs, not "time-outs" in general, actually....now thats REAL football. lol.

i rather kill myself then playing the game with replay thingy in rugby. Where is the spirit if we have those kind if tools in soccer game. If there is such thing, i bet you wouldn't see italy in the final right this moment. they would proproly lost to us in around 16s.

It is part of the game, strategy, not like hit the wall game!!!
And I believe that what make us love playing the game.
