lila, She was moving into an apartment that allowed cats but no dogs were allowed. so Snoopy was taken to the Daisy hill puppy farm. Charlie Brown was hurt in a school yard accident and his parents took him to get a dog. There is a movie out there on DVD called Snoopy come home, where snoopy leaves when he learns in a letter that Lila is ill and in hte hospital and returns to her bedside, but later learns that he can't live with her because there are no dogs allowed and returns to Charlie Brown.

The name of snoopy's first owner was Lila but when she had to move to a new apartment building that didnt allow animals she had to return him to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm thus Charlie Brown found him.
