he is algerian, born in Marseille France, because his father was berber and was one of the first alien to France, Zidan wasn't able to speak Arabic, but he speaks Amazigh (race in north africa betwenn Morocco and Algeria, original citizens in there) and french, he was the most expencive player in the world by 64 Million dolors, till now, he played the most important champions ships in europ, and yes, France is an important soccer school in the world, every year we can observe new players, talents playing in every teams in France. and if you mean by Mother country Algeria, yes there are some good players too
