My mother thinks I shouldn't move into my boyfriend and I's apartment because he has had a rough past that he has gotten help for. He is clean and he hasn't "battered" anyone. (he was falsely accused) How should I tell my mom that my son and I are moving in with my boyfriend and his daughter because we love each other and because we will be together no matter what.

The best thing to do is just come out and say it. Some parents arent willing to hear it. But eventually they will get used to the idea. It takes time. You have to understand your parents concern also though and let them know you really love this guy and if he ever would harm you, you would be outta there faster than you could say goodbye.

Listen to your mother. If you and your boyfriend are really in love, the relationship will stand the test of time. It's much easier to get out of a relationship when you are not living with the person. Give him time to prove to your mother and to you that he has changed. If he is the great guy you say he is, then he will understand. Loving each other is not about moving in and playing house, it's a life-long commitment through all the problems that come along. There is nothing wrong with waiting.

She will never believe you that your bf is clean based on the record, and you will never listen to her concerns and not move in.

I don't know the story, I don't know how old you are. So if you are of age, I would just tell her what your plan is, tell her you love her (if you do), and that you promise that at the first hint of trouble you will get out. Don't know what else to say....good luck with it all!

Just like you did us. You just tell her. We all make mistakes, and learn from them. If it turns out to be a mistake, hey, she's your Mom, she'll take you back. Mom's always do. You would take your son back no matter, I bet.
