I think the only time it matters is when he climbs the fences.Tony has way more than enough talent to overcome a few extra pounds but Saturday he did look like he's put on several pounds. If Tony was in the Indy car series it would be a problem because the weight of those cars is determined minus the driver if that was the procedure in Nascar then his weight could be a problem.

My guess?? They have no life, but to focus on something like that. I mean, really, no it's not an issue, nor is it important. Seriously, it's a sad thing that so much focus is put on his weight, and it's ignorant. American is obsessed with weight and looks though..so when there is something out of the norm, and by norm I am referring to the other the stature of other driver's they decide it's suddenly a big story.

i dont know personally i think he looks sexier with a little weight on him. people like to put others down to make themselves feel better about their own miserable existence. I love Tony even if he weighed in at 400!

Why do you think most male swimmers shave their entire body? milliseconds of time help. Your body weight and the cars weight will effect speed. So, yes. You want to keep in good shape. Its all the science of the sport.

He's not FAT (just chunky), I wouldn't say they are really complaining about it...just nit-picking like they do about saying Gordon is gay or Johnson is a cheater or Earnhardt Jr. is a redneck, etc.
He laughs about it himself, saying he's too out of shape!
