Because even scientists are not sure that global warming is happening, or that there is anything we can do about it.

Because it doesn't. Changes are so slow you need several generations to feel any effect.
Also, we don't really know how global warming us going to affect us. We know that there is a chance that polar caps will partially melt and the ocean will rise by a few feet per century; we figure that there might be higher incidence of hurricanes in the Caribbean. What we don't know is how much we will save on heating, how much more productive temperate-climate agriculture in places like Canada and Russia will become, or how far the now-endangered rainforests will expand.

I think people are aware, but the impact doesn't seem immediate. It's like with smoking. One cigarette doesn't seem to make a big deal, and habits are developed and lungs destroyed one drag at a time.
Same with global warming. It's hard to motivate someone to work on preventing impacts that take 20+ years to be felt in any significance, especially when there are more immediate harms.

I dont believe thier is enough information for people on this topic. Global warming should be a constant topic in the news with updated information. Also, people just dont seem to care about the earth, or realize that thier children will have to face bigger issues in the near future.

There is nothing that humans can do can fix global warming. We can't even stop the temperature from rising one degree, or make it rain where we need it. The big flap about the earth heating up is just that. Why don't you say something about the sun heating up? That is a scientific fact, and we are not doing that, and we can't fix it.

There are more "important" needs and wants (food, water and shelter in the poorer countries. Levi's Nike and LV in the more affluent countries) human beings chase.
Others think that the effort of one is negligible.
Others think that God will take care of everything.
Others think they will not live to see the end of the world.

because it's such a slow process it seems insignificant.
why worry about something today, when we can leave the problem for future generations?
