If you had any pretty flower and nice-smelling one, which one would it be? I would like to buy a rather good one.

The best smelling flower on earth that will perfume the air around it for hours is passion flower. Wow. Next is gardenia. Smellin Good. If youre going for looks, try lilies and roses. There are so many flowers for so many uses. You can even plant a garden that tells a story. Every flower has its own meaning. I have a lot of luck with herbs. The flowers arent all that, though. You can plant a garden of flowers that only open at night. Cool if youre a vampire. Just research what your goal for your garden is and you can find almost anything to fit any need.

I looooove peonies and hyacinths. Hyacinths can be forced to grow at different times, or you can plant them inside or outside in the late fall. Peonies grow really well and have lots of flowers if they're happy, but they take a few years to get established and they absolutely have to have good sun to accomplish anything. Peonies have a sweet, sort of perfumey smell with a hint of spice. Hyacinths are heady and spicy, with a smell sorta like violets or lilies. Lilies are good, too, but the smell isn't for everyone and they aren't all fragrant, so make sure the one you buy says that it has a perfume. If you get roses, make sure they aren't just a bunch of petals and no smell. Lots of tea roses have heads like a bloomin' onion but the perfume has been bred right out of them. Old-fashioned or heirloom roses might not be as showy, but the aroma is usually much stronger. They're usually easier to grow, too. Or try Dolly Parton roses--wow! They're beautiful and have a strong, but very attractive perfume. Lilacs are nice but can take a while to bloom. They usually are pretty reliable once they bloom, though.

Freesias have one of the most delicious-smelling fragrances I've ever experienced (sort of like apricots/peaches and a little honey), plus they're available in many different beautiful colours.

Four o'clocks (Mirabilis jalapa) also have a very pleasant and unique fragrance, plus their flowers are gorgeous! Many 4 o'clocks are known for having variegated blossoms -- two or three different colours splashed on the same flower! Look them up online and you'll see!

Roses are an automatic choice but they can be time consuming and some need quite a bit of care.

Alternatives are jasmine (which is more like a vine), lilac (which is a shrub but can be kept small), and peonies. All of these smell really good and are pretty.

NOT roses due the excessive time and special care that they require. I would go with something requiring less maintenance...Hyacinth are spring and short lived...Gardenia are summer and are broad leaf evergreen shrubs...Freesia is a pretty good lasting and fragrant flower that doesn't over whelm...it largely depends on the situation and who YOU are giving it too...if it were me getting a flower from you...I'd like Irises.

A 3-season ever-blooming fragrant rose. It'll bloom from spring through fall & is usually very hardy to winter.

Nothing better than sweetpeas. Be sure you get the scented variety--annual. The perennial sweetpea does not have any scent--limited colours, as well. The annual sweetpea imparts a lovely scent when used as a cutflower. You can, therefore, have the scent permeate your flower garden as well as inside of the house. Annual flower has a myriad of colour choices as well.

Try a stephanotis vine. It has a wonderful smell, they use it in bridal bouquets . It has many clusters of pure white tubular flowers ,that are longlasting and waxy looking .

there are sooooo many!
Petunias - roses - lilacs - gardenia - cotoneaster shrub blossoms - huneysuckle - butterfly bush - hydrangea - freesia - lantana - monarda - etc......
If you do a search for fragrant flowers, it will give you a large selection to choose from.
Also go to a florist shop and smell what you like most and consider that plant to grow (if you can choose just one).
