I drive in the right hand lane when not passing and can`t even remember the last time I got a ticket, but maybe that`s because I DON`T REMEMBER MUCH !!!

Don't worry about the idiot behind you, it's the ones in front you have to worry about. Try to eliminate road rage from your emotions, it might only get you a tire iron burried into your head or worse.

I learned how to drive in 1976 from a retired New York Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Test Evaluator.
According to him, the best way to deal with a tailgater is to very gradually lift your foot from the accelerator. This allows your vehicle to slowly lose momentum.
He pointed out that tailgaters are also invariably speeders, as well. By allowing your car to slow almost imperceptibly, it causes the tailgater to subconsciously change lanes.
You feel safer and they don't even realize you've caused them to back off. Happy driving!

Just slow down to the speed limit and let them blow your doors off. The police will be up ahead sooner or later and give them the ticket they deserve. Tailgating is also a ticketing offense.
You just follow the traffic laws and let the impatient morons get their tickets. If God is good (and He always is), these clowns will get tickets and may even do the genetics pool a big favor by getting killed in an inevitable accident.

Well you can do what the other person said is slow down with the gas pedal..or you can do this like my hubby does if they don't back of..just tap your brake lights as a warning and if they still don't back off..make sure you have a pad of papper with you at all time and copy doe there lic and the time and what street you were in..and when you get enought of this sent it in to the motorvehicle and do the sme thing with the police/and ambulance when they are off duty and the same with the firer truck,bus..etc etc..and let them handel that..it worth a try

The best way to deal with tailgaters is to just take your foot off the gas pedal. Your car will get slower and slower, and eventually the idiot will switch to a different lane.
During the process, if you look in your rear view mirror, you will often see them back there waving their little arms around in anger. This should provide some amusement.

well either tap the break so they will back off...or maybe speed up. If you seem to be the victim of this alot then it's probably your driving. Ohhhhh are you one of those ppl that are in the left passing lane passing nobody??? They are trying to get your slow assa out of the way then.

I just drive with no changes at all - somedody wants to pass me take left line, usually works.
