I know how to download music(you have to have a DVD drive installed in your CPU.But I don't know how to transfer written words to a disk. And do those written words have to be your own, stored in one of your computer's folders? Or can you store information from on-line on your disc or is that copyright infringement?

First downloading music has nothing to do with DVDs. "Downloading" means getting off the Internet or some other online source.

I'm not sure what you mean by transferring written words to disk. Written words on what, paper? To do that you need a scanner and OCR software (or else type it in manually). On a web page? You can do a File/Save in your browser to save a page to disk. Yes, there are technically potential copyright issues here but I don't know anyone who cares about this specific situation, and I'm a stickler for copyright. (Arguably it's fair use.) If those written words are stored in one of your computer's folders, then they are already on the disk. If you want to transfer them to another disk, and you are using Windows, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder and file, and click and drag (hold down the mouse button) it to the disk you want it to go to. For example, if you have a floppy disk you want to copy a file to, select the file by clicking on it with the mouse, hold down the button and move it to your A: floppy disk icon (under My Computer), and when it turns blue, let go of the mouse button.

First of all you need to have a CD burner or DVD burner in your computer. Maybe you only have a CD reader. When you insert the CD it will ask you what u want to do. If you want to open the files in the CD, or burn the CD. Click on burn. Once you do that it might take you to windows media player. then their you select the music you want to burn. If you want to copy word files, find the file, left click and tell it to burn it to your CD. Normally a CD burns 80 minutes of music. Don't make the same error I did, always select as many songs to use all your 80 minutes because if you are not using a re-writable CD you can only burn once. First time I did this I only recorded one song, I did not know how to do it. If you want to copy certain information from the Internet, first you need to copy to your computer, then you look for it and burn it to your CD. HOPE THIS HELPED, If not you may IM me at this same id in yahoo messenger.

how do you install a DVD drive in your CPU?

Just use word or notepad, copy and paste the written words into the document. Save the document. Burn the DVD, not with fire. You don't need to care about copyright as long as you don't distribute it. No one will know, unless you tell other people about it.

You can store anything that you have saved on your computer on to a disk. For data, using windows, you select the files you want to transfer, then select copy or send to. then select the drive you want eg. d: or e: then hit OK. that usually works, if you have a 3rd party program that you use you might have to specify that you are transferring data files not music or videos, you mention you have a DVD drive, to copy files to disk you need a DVD or CD Burner.

u have to have a certain soft ware on your comp. for sure in order to copy text documents but it depends on what online information you want to save. at the bottom of the page, it says if it is copy written or not. but you can still copy it from online as long as u dont give it out or sell it.
