Someone sent me these pics of Roberto Carlos supposedly bent over, then straightening out to watch Henry score when he should have been covering him. Is this real??? See them at the link below. Everything is in Portuguese, but it will be easy enough to figure out which one is (allegedly) Roberto Carlos.

evangelista: I saw a replay today on TV, it was not a corner, and carlos was just standing there watching Henry score. I think it's legit.

You know i had this same discussion with my friends on Saturday after the game. He did not mark Henry. Call it fatigue or whatever but point of the matter is he just wasn't where he was supposed to be. Some more speculation came when only a day after their defeat he announced that was retiring from national team play, maybe he is just feeling a little guilty dont you think. I have never cared much for Roberto Carlos, he is talented but brash and like many of Brazil's superstars he is spoiled. But i guess the ultimate question being asked here is did he loose the game? No, the answer is they all did, they could not control the game from the beginning thus France was just waiting for the mistake, it would have come either sooner or later

Roberto Carlos Vs France

Actually, these pictures don't look like they were from that match. Henry was very close and more to the right of the net, and there was another French player (Viera? Malouda?) very close to him on his left. And everyone seemed more bunched up and closer to the goal than in these pictures.

And wasn't that goal scored from a corner?? This one looks more like a free kick. I have no comments on what that bent over guy was doing but he's probably not Roberto Carlos. The pictures seem doubtful.

Wow! I don't know if i should be answering this because i'm not sure if it's real...(i can't read Portuguese), but it looks real and if it is....well he made a HUGE mistake!
OR...
There was some sort of miscommunication that ensued between the Brazilian players...maybe Roberto Carlos was supposed to stay up for a counter-attack when (if) Dida got the ball?
