I read the following:

"Yes the US will collapse from within eventually and here's why...So long as we have Mexican-Americans, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, etc. we have factions and until they can get past their heritage and acknowledge that we are just American I can see where these factions may/might end up conflicting and possibly trying to gain control. If that infighting were to occur the USA would eventually collapse under it's own weight of diversity."

Will someone please, please explain this answer to me? I am really confused. Listed below are 3 of my concerns.
1. "So long as we have..." - Is this a veiled suggestion that certain people should start looking for a new home?
2. "...trying to gain control" - I thought the United States was governed by the people.
3. "We are just American." - Who are the "We"?... Teaching history is teaching heritage? Whose heritage should we learn?

Have I just missed the point? Please, I need to understand.

Thanks

If you can get an American passport you are an American if not you may be in limbo as I just found out I am. Seems my SS number says I'm 88 years old and they won't change it without a birth certificate. They won't give me a copy of my birth certificate without a cross check of my SS #. And without a birth certificate no passport. Oh well I thought I was an American for 35 years anyhow.

Citizens of the United States use the term American's because their Country doesn't have a proper name,You can't say you're a USAian so they have elected to call themselves American,If you ask most Canadians they will not wish to be called American,thank-you!!!

I believe everything he said. Stop trying to read between the lines, we are labeling ourselves, therefore we are not united.
