it works for some people
i personally haven't tried that brand, but i know from experience and from trying other brands that what works for one person may not necessarily work for everyone. you have to find out what you like and what works with your body's chemistry

After watching the commercials for a couple of years, I finally "bit the bullet" and bought the stuff ... Believe me, it's great!! It does everything that the commercials say and more. The only negative is that it admittedly is expensive.
So ... here's an alternative ... and I have to say that this other product is quite similar and really just about as good: Go to the drug store and find the display of "Physicians Formula" products. Physicians Formula has been around for years -- but it has recently started carrying what they call their "Mineral Wear" line. It comes in loose powder (that you apply with a brush -- just like Bare Minerals) -- and it also comes in a pressed powder compact (that you also apply with a brush).
I am currently using both the Bare Minerals and also the Physicians Formula "Mineral Wear" line -- not at the same time, but just trading off. And both of them are great. I would have to say that the Physicians Formula stuff is probably every bit as good as the Bare Minerals -- and it's a fraction of the price.
I never believed that a powder would cover all the imperfections that the Bare Minerals commercials say it does -- but it really does. And the best part of it is that it looks much-much-much more natural on your face than liquid or cream make-up does.
Another benefit is that, like the commercials say, you can sleep in it overnight and, when you wake up the next morning and look in the mirror, you don't look like "something the cat dragged in". Your face still looks good.
Yeah -- I highly recommend both Bare Minerals and Physicians Formula's Mineral Wear line. I'll never use any other kind of make-up base.
Now, on the other hand, I also bought the Bare Minerals blusher and eye shadow. But I don't care for it at all! Big waste of money!! (Even the clerk at the store told me that -- but I didn't believe him and went ahead and bought it anyway.) So my personal advice is -- use the make-up base but don't buy their blush or their eye shadow. You can buy that stuff at the drug store and it looks just as good and/or better.

Chances are, if it is making your face itch you are allergic to some of the minerals, which would be why your face is breaking out or becoming itchy.
BareMinerals are free preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other chemicals.
If you are allergic to one of the ingredients (Yes, they are natural and don't clog pores.. but if you do have an adverse reaction, it is most likely because you are allergic).
Some of the minerals in BareMinerals are things like Titanium Dioxide, Bismuth Oxychloride, Mica, Zinc Oxide, Ultramarines, and Iron Oxides.
All safe and sound, unless you are allergic.
Oh, and another problem for the people breaking out when using BareMinerals. Try cleaning your brushes more frequently.. it will help.

I am very satisfied with Bare Minerals. I haven't had any problems with it. My only problem is finding the time to apply it. The color looks great and is very natural. It is alot better looking than uneven, discolored base or powder. You should try it.

It doesn't work miracles mind you ,but it does work i love the fresh look it gives no need to worry about sunscreen its in it no need to apply foundation then powder then well you know the routine I'm sure. i save about 15 mins in the bathroom every morning and have had many ppl ask what i have done that my face looks clearer i don't have NEAR as many breakouts and the removal is as easy as a face soap and water
I recommend it.

Girl, it rocks. I swear to god. It covers ever little evil anything you have on your face. And easy!!!!!!!!
A tip: If you're skin type is medium beige, buy medium beige (also referred to as number 2.3) Since your skin color changes all the time, buy another color to darken your beige as you get more color during the summer or outdoor exposure.
And pay attention to how you put it on...if you don't tap out enough of it, it looks cakey.

I think it's alright, if you have good skin to begin with. I have a little discoloration/combination skin. It just looked like I put any old face powder on when I tried it.
