No, but, according to the law through the SPCA, if you run over animals, you are suppose to report them, and if its done on purpose, then it is punishable by law, meaning jail time, but, not a death penalty. Where did ya hear that?? Or are you just bored, and wanted to get some comments goin??

I believe the owner of the cat should be responsible for the kitten's death. Like most wild animals that are on the roadway, sometimes the collision is unavoidable by the driver of the vehicle.

Secondly I do not believe in the death penalty since I do not feel any justice is served in the eye for an eye theory. I do not like paying tax dollars for life sentences but the alternative is legalized murder.

Just my two cents worth.

That's ridiculous. People shouldn't even get the death penalty for running over people (or for anything).

But seriously, whereas running over a cat on purpose should be a crime probably punishable by fine, running over a cat by accident should really have no punishment. It's a cat. Cats are not people. They are not as important. Anyone who thinks so is sadly out of touch with nature. Humans are clearly the pre-eminent life form on Earth (this should be obvious to religious Creationists and atheists alike).

That's going way overboard, and kitties do tend to run into the streets without being noticed. I do think, though, that someone who realizes they've hit a pet (or any other animal) should at least report it, and if possible move it to the side of the road, so it won't be run over and over again.

Not for a kitten. Now if you replace the word kittie with child, and athe driver doing something really stupid at the time, ei. DUI or running from the cops, then there is no doubt that the driver should face homicide charges.

No, not if it is an accident. But if it were on purpose, there should be a severe penalty. I am not an animal nut or anything, but the kind of person that would do it would have to be some kind of mental patient.

No. It's just an animal at best. Why should a human have to die for a mistake of killing an animal like this? At best, it helps to curb the pet population. At worst, just a sad accident that the owner may be finacially liable for.

Most of the times it's just a blameless accident, and no one deserves to pay any price.

However, anyone who deliberately kills a helpless animal would best be removed from society and the gene pool.

No. Animals are different from people. Accidents happen, but people who purposely hurt animals should get some type of punishment.

no but is is amazing when someone abuses an animal People protest and demand a stiff prison sentence. But when a child is abused or molested there are no protest and people plead for for rehabilitation.
