What is the BEST.. most trusted shower cleaner?
In my last question I asked about what to use to clean a college public shower stall and the majority said to use bleach. What is your favorite/most trusted product/brand you would use in a public shower? And I don't think just spraying bleach will do the trick so is there anything/product that will do the "work" and get rid of the guck for me or do I need to scrub! ((..Yikes!))

My favorite cleaner for the shower is called Tub/Tile Cleaner by Zep. It can be found at Home Depot. Works great on soap scum, hard water deposits are usually no problem either.

If you can't find Zep, try Kaboom, or Lime Away spray cleaner. They will do a decent job as well. So will Comet shower spray for the bathroom.

If you are having trouble cleaning a public shower just spray the heck out of it! Spray it down and let the cleaner do some work before you get started. Then spray it again right before you scrub. I have noticed that people tend to have problems with the products they choose because they don't use enough of it. Don't be afraid to spray the shower down! And you may want to use an all purpose bleach cleaner on the floor of the shower.

I'd suggest, The Works Soap Scum Remover, to dissolve soap scum on contact. Good for all types of showers and tubs, including porcelain, fiberglass and acrylic.
If hardwater deposits seem to be the problem, try CLR ( calcium, lime, and rust ) brand to get rid of hardwater stains in grout joints.
I believe The Works brand also has a hardwater stain cleaner/remover also.
Spray bottles are the best to apply cleaner, but make sure there is enough ventilation so you have enough air to breath.
Once cleaned to desired satisfaction, use Shower After Shower to keep those deposits down.
Hope this helps.

I use scrubbing bubbles as my general shower cleaner at home but when I really need to do a good cleaning I like to use soft scrub with bleach. I haven't found anything that works better...

I've tried Scrubbing Bubbles. Good on sinks, not on tubs.
I've used The Works.... the smell is horrible!
I've tried KaBoom and I wasn't impressed.

When my tub gets real dirty, I go back to using Comet (or Ajax) and good old elbow grease. To remove stains, I like to fill the tub with water and add bleach to it (then I also soak the shower curtain in the water).

I've even tried the sprays that you're supposed to spray on after every shower. I wasn't too impressed with them either.
For mildew I only use Tilex. It does work great.

Try a product callled The Works, I have also used Greased Lightening, however if it is really bad good old scouring powder, once you get it clean, use a good auto wax on it and stick a shower squeege in the shower to squeege it down with after showers, the car wax will allow the water to bead and run off the shower walls alot easier.

Comet and Ajax scratched our old tub. I use a product called Bon Ami which is guaranteed not to scratch. Bon Ami works WONDERS. You rub it on then rinse it off. Takes a little time, but well worth it! (And it doesn't have an icky smell like some of the other cleaners listed!)
