I think you need to get into your BIOS - somewhwere in there you'll find the opton of Enabling/Disabling the onboard sound.
I'd remove the audigy soundcard, disable the onboard sound in BIOS, shut the machine down, physically install the audigy card, boot up, and then install the drivers.

Well, you don't need to "disable the drivers" you need to install them and then ENABLE the device. Do you have a CD or driver disk that came with it? If not, you may be able to go to sound blaster's web site, put in your exact model and download the drivers. If it seems not to Be working, uninstall it (via software), shut off your PC, and move it to a different PCI slot. Then when you boot back up your system should re-detect it and ask you for the driver. Point it to your CD or downloaded files, and there you go!

How are you trying to set it up and what version of windows do you have? You should be able to restart windows and it will say that it detects the PCI card and either it will have it's own drivers or then it will ask you to provide them from the CD that comes with your card. Have you restarted the system and does it say "new hardware detected"? If it doesn't then maybe the card isn't seated properly or something like that.

i have had a similar problem with a sounblaster card, its all to do with your irq settings in bios,if the sound card irq is being used by another card,i.e video card it will install ok but not be recognized by bios thus not being recognized by windows
the answer is to go into bios and then look in pheripal devices, and change the irq until you stop the conflict problem
its quite a baffleing job to do,so a trip to a local p.c shop might be a idea, but dont get ripped off ,as its only a 2 second job,so it should only cost about a tenner
good luck

go to control panel add new hardware click it twice to activate tell it to search for new hardware, it will and then ask if it is already installed tell it yes and it will continue, is should find it, if it doesn't it will show a listbox of options you can choose from. if no sound and video devices not there, close window, to to systems also in control panel, click hardware, click device manager it will show exclamation mark with small yellow circle around it, on the devices which are not installed properly, the sound should be one of them.
double click on it and choose to install driver, then browse to the cd drive to show it where to go for driver.
it should now install driver and detect hardware.

Go to device manager and see if the mother board has integrated sound. If so disable it and load the drivers for the new card.

Some suggestions:
-You need to 'enable' the drivers.. not disable them. :P
-Check the internet for the latest drivers to install.
-Check the manual for your PC and soundcard to make sure they are compatible.
-Check the manual for your soundcard to make sure it is compatible with your OS.
-Sell the whole thing and buy a really nice blender.
