blooms are so heavy they bend and break stems, more so after a rain. When and at what location on the plant do you cut flowers stem?

Pinch out the central flowerstalk. Snapdragons will bush out faster and produce multiple
spikes instead of only a single stalk per plant.

Garden Stakes or bamboo stakes come in handy holding plants and flowers up. Check your garden center.

just pinch them off to thin out the flowers

what is a spapdragon flower exactly? Did you mean a snapdragon?
