There is racism against every race, but racism against Muslims has grown since the terrorists attack on September 11. So because of the actions of a small minority of Muslims, all Muslims are victims of other peoples racism.

One simple reason... IGNORANCE. People do not bother to understand or learn or appreciate anymore, so LAZINESS is part of the answer as well. It is always easier to believe what we are feed by the media and our government than look for the answers on our own!

We also have the tendency to dump every person who practices any religion - without making the distinctions of Spiritualism and FUNDAMENTALIST DOGMA - into the same bag. Fundamentalist Dogma exists, no only in Muslim religious practices, but in many a Christian religious practices as well.

Fundamentalism is extreme "righteousness" and intolerance for others' beliefs. And that is the difference between Malcolm X and Osama Bin Laden (I'm not sure on the spelling). The first understood the fellowship, love and spirituality of Muslin true practices, the later has focused his life in corrupted and misinterpreted teachings that promote racial and religious hatred.

Technically, Muslims are not a race but a religious group.

There is discrimination against Muslims because some fanatic extremists are taking some of the scriptures in the Koran very literally and are trying to exterminate the "infidels" in the world.

This is giving the rest of the followers of Islam a bad name...it seems like the non-extremists would speak up and start trying to shut down the islamo-facists that are causing them all of this grief.

Unfortunately, by the looks of the answers I have to agree with the one that is from a Muslim and discusses stereotyping all people of a race/religion/faith etc. I am not Muslim but I can see where that response is coming from. It's bad that the radicals that do kill people (right now indiscriminantly) of different faiths have tainted anybody that calls themselves Muslim or Islamic etc. Not all people that call themselves that hate those of different races/religions/faiths.

People need to begin to form their ideas/opinions based on personal experiences not the hate and anger that is all the news agencies show all day everyday. They show those things because it stirs emotions and brings on the ratings and the dollars. People need to read documents/books that are educational and not newspapers trying to increase circulation.

Unfortunately Osama BinLaden and others who have attacked America claim to be doing so in the name of Islam. In so doing they are also claiming to speak for Muslims. That's all that the small minded racists need to hear in order to make their broad generalizations and label every muslim a terrorist.

Very sad.

No racism but awareness of muslims' intolerance of "infidels", hate -inciting imams, brutal laws of Quran, improper behavior to women, religious fanatism and support for suicide murderers.

There is racism against every group. There always was, and always will be (unfortunately, no doubt) - as long as there is "difference" amongst peoples.

Some say, globalization is the cause. It may not be the cause, but it isn't helping.

Ok, people, if I never come on here again to answer questions is because I was not afraid to use my freedom of speech!
