They've been together since junior high, they aren't into drugs or using people, their music is uplifting, positive and makes you think.
They also use their celebrity for good- AIDS, Africa, peace in Ireland.
Just my opinion.

The deal probably wasn't necessary, since the band had the work of The Clash to emulate, and were willing to stay loyal to the pop-rock format and easy language for as long as people were willing to listen, without jaunting off on bouts of musical reinvention.

Umm, well nothign makes them the greatest rock band ever because, to put it simply, they arent! Think of Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones...and youre calling U2 the greatest...its just sooo wrong!!!! try listening to music from a period where people knew what rock'n'roll was REALLy about! Not some cra**p irish wannabee's!!!
