An acquaintance told me that I live a sheltered life & that I need to get out more. He also said, "excuse the expression but GROW SOME BALLS ALREADY!!!" I live in what my sis calls a "mini city" lol. Pop of only 10 000. There's nothing to do & I only have a few friends. Only 1 (or 2, if this one girl & I hang out sometimes) lives in this town. The others I have stopped being friends w/, don't live in the same town, or I only talk to on MSN when we're on. What would YOU do to get out more & possibly get to know peeps ? I'm pretty much home all day & don't have a life. I sleep in til like 11, then I do a few things til I work (4:30) & then I usually get home late cuz I take so long to clean up & cuz I come on YAs) :$ Then when I get home I usually end up talking on da phone. There's nothing to do in this town !!! :( Best thing that's semi-close is the mini golf, which is $8. But me & my friend plan on going on a 1 hr cruise this summer & hanging out in that lil town. What u do 4 fun ?

I mostly stay @ home so I don't wanna be playing video games. I don't even care for them anywayz. In fact, ever since I moved to this town in '01 I didn't bother to get cable cuz I wanted to get out more & not be cooped up in my apt... which... I'm not doing... I even got rid of the net to not be cooped up this summer. Maybe I need to go sit outside of CN Park & watch the traffic go by :s (N) Pretty much CN Park is just a corner where there's a lil bench & peeps sit there & watch traffic.

I live a "sheltered life" cuz I don't do anything. I don't go anywhere. I'm shy... blah blah blah. :( I needa break outta my shell. But I've also changed a LOT since I'm not AS shy anymo :)

Find a hobby that will eventually put you into contact with others. It can even by something you do alone, like jogging. But if you do something interesting, it will be something you can have in common and talk about with others.
The more 'mainstream' the hobby, the more people it will put you into contact with. There's nothing wrong with being quirky, of course. Just make sure you don't mistake quirky for geeky.
When you do meet folks, talk less than you listen. Good luck.

Mini City LOL the town I live in has a POP of about 400. I'm guessing a town that size has a community center maybe a YMCA or a gym. Just pick a place that interest you somewhere you can hang out and meet new people. If your Still bored move to my town for a few weeks you'll appreciate yours a hole lot more.

Just because you live in a small town doesn't mean you live a sheltered life. You are still doing the same things to get by in life that people in a big city do. You are paying bills and working and struggling to survive. I think trips like the one you have scheduled are a great way to expand your life but beyond that, you are you and your life is yours and you shouldn't be made to feel that it is any less than anyone elses.

Well is there a coffee shop that you can hang out at. Usually you will meet allot of other people who hate having to look for Friends but are desperate at the coffee shops. How about a gym? Good luck...

OK - get the F out of the house & expand your horizons ASAP ! Try a new city, town, state....you get the idea - find work ( very good for the mental health ) & self worth then,....if it don't work out then you always have a place to go back to re-group !!! TRY IT !!! You got

At least you can say , " I TRIED !!! " ....and you'll feel better that you tried it !

all i can sujest is to move to a different city, and get to know new people, and where different things are, like where i am in kitchener, theres pleanty to do.
