No, because the pollution is trapping more heat then it is blocking, that's why temperatures are going up at the same rate that CO2 goes up.

By the way, we are still in an ice age because there is still large-scale continental glaciation on Greenland and Antartica.

It should be remembered that the earth's climate has changed continuously throughout its entire history. We are currently coming out of an abnormally cold period. For most of the earth's history the planet was much warmer than today. We are also in a cycle of glacial and interglacial periods. The strongest greenhouse gas in the atmosphere is water vapor (100 times stronger than C)2 and there is much more of it). During the ice ages the north pole was ice free and the arctic ocean warmer than today. The polar sea was the source for much of the snow that fell on northern hemisphere continents resulting in continental glaciation and the ice ages. There is some evidence today that the gulf stream and associated warm water currents are again changing course and flowing into the arctic ocean rather than to northern Europe. This will mean much colder climate for northern Europe, a much warmer arctic and the potential for another ice age.

To move great amounts of water onto the land to form continental glaciers takes a great amount of energy. Global warming may be the trigger for ice ages, not global cooling.

You should know that the climate is changing all the time. For instance, there was a mini ice-age about 500 years ago. Really fierce winters for awhile. And not caused by pollution. Wikipedia says "The Little Ice Age (LIA) was a period of cooling lasting approximately from the 14th to the mid-19th centuries, although there is no generally agreed start or end date: some confine the period to 1550-1850."

It's entirely possible that pollution is causung changes to our climate. Will it get warmer? Colder? No one is really sure, but global warming is the most popular theory right now.

Most sceintists agree that the world is getting warmer. But they are not agreed on the cause.

That is one theory that the melting of the polar cap can cause desalinization of the ocean and pour so much cold water in the atlantic current that it could stop it all together. Without that warm water movement the climates could cool down so much that it could force another ice age. It could also spawn off super storms that could be devestating. This is all theory of course. It has been proved through soil sampling and other tests all over the world that the world goes through natural climate changes. Everything in life goes through cycles so I'm not going to shout armaggedon yet.

Actually it is the opposite. If the glaciers continue to melt, they'll disturb the currents of the oceans, which, putting it lightly, would not be good. Basically take everything that happened in that Jake Gyllenhal movie and throw it out the window.

Yes, but a French-Canadian man will save the human race by breeding us with yaks. The new species will be called "polar beef" and it will be able to survive the ice age.
