They can all be wireless. However, a computer will have to be connected to the router just for the setup stage. And if you want to change settings in the router, you will again have to physically connect a PC to it but other than that, roam free (of wires).

When you first set up the system, you will need to "wire" in one of your computers to enable the settings in the router. Once the router is working, it should be possible to enable wireless connections on all of your sytems. If you need to change any settings or reset the router, you might have to reconnect the "wired" connection. You mention using your desktop as a router, but you also mention a router for your laptop: If you have a router, the desktop won't need to act as a router if it uses the other router.

Both computer can be wireless. Only the modem and router need to be connect. Goe like this:
dsl line from wall to wireless dsl router (aka modem). if your modem is not wireless, you will need to connect the modem to a wireless router (just router not modem) with ethernet cable. modem broadcasts wireless signal. computers each need a wireless card installed to receive wireless signal. that's it.

Both can be wireless, but you may first want to connect the laptop to the router to configure settings (SSID, WPA Encryption). I've heard people having problems configuring their router through their wireless network.

All computers can be wireless, you just need to set up the modem on at least one of the computers. Good Luck!

I easily have seen this till now whilst the potential settings of the WiFi radio interior the pc are set to guard battery life. apparently, this turns off the radio after that's no longer used for awhile--or cuts back on the transmit potential. i might make advantageous your pc device drivers are up thus far.

Everybody has made the right answer but one is best. I look forward to seeing which one you choose and if it is the "right one" according to me.
