We were on a romantic island...but he proposed to me as I got out of the shower in th hotel room. I was COMPLETELY surprised, but the scenery could have been better.
It helps to be away somewhere when you do propose because you are so happy and in such a daze its nice to be away and not have to go to work the next day. You can just be all mushy and excited for a couple days with just the 2 of you.

Yes, my fiance proposed on Valentine's Day at 12:01 am. When I got out of the shower, there were little message under pictures of my favorite comic strip, Pearls before Swine, on the walls leading to the second bedroom. I followed them, still dripping wet, until I found him standing there. He made this sweet speech about how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I didn't know what was happening until he asked me the second time.
Made my YEAR! :) I thank God for him.

200lb Full suit of armor went to her work and proposed. What was fun is that it made the national news and two full page spread in the local paper.. not sure that is romantic but not one to forget…

YES! Mine was awesome. My now "ex" husband was a very creative guy. He took me out to this fancy place on Valentines day and made ALL OF THE WRONG MOVES. He claimed later that it was his one final test of my patience. Right when I was sooo ready to go home and didn't want to tell him for "fear" of hurting his feelings. The chef brought out his specialty recipe book with an inscription on the inside that said, "congratulations on your engagement." I looked up and he pulled out this beautiful engagement ring and told me that I was the woman of his dreams, called me by my full name, and asked me to marry him. Of course I started crying and said "yes". People all around us were pointing and some where clapping and all were smiling. It was something out of a fairy tale. Now....our marriage was something straight out of a horror film. LOL The next guy can basically just take me to the court and say whatever it is people say in front of the justice of peace just to make it legal, but as long as he's got both feet on the ground and his heart extended to God....it's all GOOD! LOL

Not really. We had been dating for 10 yrs since jr. high; had moved out together and decided it would be nice to get married on our 10 yr dating anniversary. He did get down on one knee and put the ring on my finger in front of my parents (but I had picked out the ring, lol). So I guess it was so/so romantic :-)

It was some what romantic. I totally surprised her while we were just hanging out watching tv. I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked. She had no idea it was coming.

I composed a waltz for my then-future wife. I had invited my brother and his wife to join us under the guise of a dual birthday celebration (my bro and now my wife have birthdays within days of each other). At the restaurant, I had tipped the band to play my piece when our dessert was served. At the moment her piece started to play, she recognised it just about the time I pulled the ring out of my suit pocket. I then asked her if she would marry me. Fortunately, she said yes, then we danced for the remainder of the song to applause from the rest of the restaurant.

Actually, I propsoed to him. I am pragmatic. He had been asking me to marry him for a while and I kept saying "No.".
Once I realized we were living together, had a business together, etc. I thought - well, what am I afraid of?" So, I said something to him like, "I will take you up on that offer now."
