Ok I went to the hospital last night and I am still 2 cm dilated and effaced 60-70 %! But now I am bleeding. I have went through about 8-10 pantyliners since 5:00 am and when I went to the OB at the hospital,my lil sis kinda told the nurse off because well....she acts like you owe her something for her time. Anyway I was scared so I went and I was being really nice to her. When I was at my obgyn's office I was not bleeding-Now I am and having irregular contractions. The dr was there to deliver and said when she got done that she would be in there to check me,Well my sis knew the girl who had the baby and she was talking with her family when she heard the nurse tell my dr that nothing had changed with me. And the dr discharged me and left. She didn't even come in there to see me and then when the nurse came in there to discharge me she got all hateful with me and said I know you didn't want me to treat you so now you can go on home. WTF I mean do I go back? I am still bleeding & hurting!

I don't want to harm my baby but I don't want them to get frustrated with me and treat me like I am garbage either! They act like I am an inconvience. I did tell the Dr about that nurse's behavior about 2 weeks ago. I went back last night and that is when she acted like that. So Should I go back and see what is up with my baby or wait until I can't stand the contractions? The pressure is almost unbearable and I can hardly do household chores.THe blood scares me more than anything and the cramping.ialso have an incompitent cervix. Any suggestions??

Get back to that hospital now. Call your Dr on the way if you can and tell him you are bleeding. That can be very serious and can cause the life of the baby and yourself. Don't let this nurse check you out again. If she does refuse to leave until you see the charge nurse or director of nursing and also demand a Dr. and let them know you will sue if they don't. Don't be nice if you are getting ignored. Don't let her ever tell you to go if you feel you are having problems not looked into. You can demand a new nurse and make sure you file a complaint against this nurse when you are all done. If they decide after you have actually been seen by a Dr. that it is just the bloody show then go home and rest while you can because very shortly you will be REALLY busy. Good luck and please let me know what happens.

You need to be evaluated by a doctor immeadiately! Your job is to make sure you and your baby are safe. You can't not seek medical treatment because you are afraid of what certain people might think of you. You are a mother now, and the health and well being of your baby must come first. You need to talk to the nurse you had last night, or her supervisor. She did not act professionally at all. She is NOT at liberty to discuss your case or progress with anyone but the other medical professionals providing care for you. This is a breach of patient confidentiality!
Also, if you truly have an incompetent cervix, or if you had treatment for that (Cerclage - where the cervix is sutured to keep it from opening prematurely) you should be seen.
Don't let a nurse in a bad mood wreck this experience for you, it is the birth of your baby, and it is something you will remember for the rest of your life. Please see your doctor again, and good luck!

well if i was you and heard her say that nothing had changed i would have said something right then and there but you do not need to worry about this nurse just next time tell someone that you do not want her treating you and everything should go smoothly worry about your baby maybe tell your doctor i would go back if you really think something is wrong because you never know i can't think a nurse being that mad she would put your baby's life in any kind of harm but you never know with people these days i hope all goes well good luck

Yes, go back. A friend of mine went through this same thing. She finally went back even though the nurse was mean, and she had to stay in the hospital for about 3 days because the baby was trying to come prematurely.

Yes, you do go back! You have the right to request another nurse to treat you, and i would recommend that you do. You are just as important as anyone else at that hospital, demand your rights, and complain loudly if you don't have them met! Helping you and seeing to you and your baby's health is their job. Bleeding that much is not normal, you should not be bleeding, occasional spotting is normal, this is not. At the very least they should be observing you to make sure it does not get worse. ASK FOR A DIFFERENT NURSE TO TREAT YOU!!! Better to be embarrassed and wrong than ignored and dead, or in mourning for your baby just because you were scared to make waves.

girl don't worry about that nurse worry about yourself what you need to do is go back to that same hospital and don't let that woman intimidate you. YOU are the patient not her you aint gotta be nice but its her job to be nice. SO go back and worry about you and the safety of your baby not her dumb as*. If you can request a different nurse and tell the hospital that you don't want her near you.

Go back to that damn hospital and DEMAND to be seen by someone else. You have every right to be treated PROPELY and with RESPECT. You aren't supposed to go to a hospital with a problem and be scared!!! Then if you see her again and she acts like a jerk, report her!!! Each hospital has patient advocates. Get one immediately upon arrival.

your doc should have a cell phone or beeper, call it, and tell him what you are doing, the bleeding means you are softening up and dialating more, let him know that the nurse was spiteful towards you and ignored your symptoms,
she could have been having a really bad day, but that doesn't excuse her behavior since your baby and you are both at stake here.

THEY ARE PROBABLY BRAXTON HICKS CONTRACTIONS, DONT GO TO THE HOSPITAL TIL THEY ARE EXACTLY 5 MINS APART, OR LESS. BUT THEY WILL BE THE SAME LENGTH APART, AND CLOSE. SOME SPOTTING IS NORMAL. BUT IF YOUR NOT DIALATING, THEY WONT KEEP YOU, YOU CAN STAY DIALATED AT 2 TO 3 CM, FOR A LONG TIME, LIKE A MONTH.
