Without a doubt. He is more an independent than Republican. The only Senator that has fought for years to do away with the campaign financing crap that is nothing more than companies buying votes. He's also very much into limiting lobbyist money etc which is another form of buying votes (i.e. the congressman from California). He's also the only one that stuck to his guns and stood up to President Bush when it came to changing everything possible to ensure prisoners in Guantanamo wouldn't be tortured.

Unfortunately, he has a temper (which I like) and he's alienated Republicans because of his stances on the above topics. The man is ethical, intelligent, and courageous (proven while a POW in Viet Nam). Unlike a lot of politicians today.

Tommy D you have got to be kidding! Kissing his A$$! He's the one that basically stared down the entire administration when it came to rewriting the Army instruction on interrogation. He was the only one that refused to budge and Bush backed down. Come on.

Altho I am not a republican I do like John McCain,I am from AZ and i know him to be a good man,he was a POW in Viet Nam and is good under stress and pressure.Hes very level headed. If I did not like the democratic nominee I would choose McCain over any other republican. Of course a woman could be a great president , I would hope for a strong leader like Golda or Thatcher ,many woman have governed successfully in other countries. Why not here ?

I personally respect John McCain, and I liked him until he campaigned for and with George Bush. McCain in the end was more loyal to his party than he was to The Nation.

After all, he was the Senator that forced the no torture law through Congress and on to Bushes desk, but he knew Bush would sign a proviso that freed Bush from having to enforce the law even though it was passed by Congress and signed by the President.

The law according to Bush is not worth a ten cents. And this is the man who has been running the Country into a garbage can, and McCain supports him.

It is shameful! So no, McCain should not be President. We can't trust him even though he has a supposed record of being a maverick republican.

As for a woman president, I am ready for one, but is the Repubican Party ready for one? (Let it be noted that Condi is way to close to GWB for me to trust; Let her get some experience away from the toxic shadow of Bush)

thank you for asking.

I am a proud Democrat, and I think I would vote for McCain in an instant unless the Democratic party pulls someone better out of their asses. John McCain is an honerable and honest man unlike the treasonous filth and garbage that inhabits the white house now. He actually served his country in a time of war instead of hiding out in the military of all places like some Republicans, and volunteered to stay in POW camp and release his subordinates. I base my decision not just on these things, but also on the fact that he is not wacko conservative that wants to vote things down simply for the fact that others in his party are doing it. He votes based on common sense and whats good for the nation not just what looks good, most of the time at least from what I've seen. I also believe in this time of war that he is going to make way better tactical decisions, and I believe if he were president on 9-11, we would'nt be screwing around in the weakest terrorist link in Iraq, and would have a greater ability to attack terrorists around the world. In other words, he would have a real war on terror by attacking countries that gave significant support to Islamic Jihadists, not just attacking some minor cog, than covering it up with mindless rhetoric and propaganda. Oh and I have no problem with a woman presidnt, I realise how ruthless as well as intelligent women can be, and if she has the right stuff, by all means, we might as well join the rest of the civilised world with at least one women president.

I could vote for McCain if he come to the middle and is not too conservative. He was anti-Bush and has been kissing W's A** this term. He needs to prove that he will be for all Americans and improve our standing in the world and not follow Bush.

I could vote for anyone, woman or man.

even though i am a democrat to the core, i would still vote for john mccain. i live in arizona so i have been watching him for years and at this point i would vote for him over any of the democrats that have been considered so far. the democrats would have to come up with someone pretty damn special for me to NOT vote for mccain.

even as she reported: "My marriage ended because John McCain did not opt to be 40, he needed to be 25. you comprehend that takes position...it merely does.'" it quite is her opinion. those those who've had any variety of failed courting and/or marriage comprehend there are frequently 2 or extra aspects to each and every tale. possibly we also needs to get John McCain's fringe of factors to beforehand we crucify him because the villain. yet otherwise of putting it, in case your former spouse changed into putting her fringe of factors accessible, you should also get your area out. someplace between both, should be a available version of the reality. My wager is after both went by using severe wellbeing themes, his being the extreme torture plus damaged fingers and leg plus hers as listed above, they were both not available to do with. although he ought to have fared extra acceptable because he had the flexibility of his fellow POW's to assist keep up him. They understood because they were also dealing with what he did. Now who did she have for help? She did not have really a lot 2 hundred fellow human beings (POW's in his case) who were together with her each day and had severe injuries from an twist of destiny. that should be precisely the version, he changed into extra upbeat about his issues because of his help. She ought to were an evil wench to take care of and that ought to drag absolutely everyone down. merely my 8 cents properly worth, adjusted up through increasing administration expenses and inflation..
