Goaltending skills aside, I don't recall Hasek ever bribing police with ONE BILLION DOLLARS. Ed gets my vote.

Belfour. From what I hear he wasn't the greatest of guys off the ice, but I like his style a lot more than Hasek's. Belfour was more consistent, more responsible in net; Hasek was a bit of a showboat, he made easy saves look hard, not the other way around like a good goalie should.

Belfour was way better back early in his career but Hasek is also a great tender and probably would be better today due to injuries but both are a bit slower than they use to be.

Well, neither of them are really good now, right now I would say Hasek but back in the day Belfour wins easy.

Do I have to choose? If so, Hasek is in better shape. His injury is not that recurring bad back that Belfour has. Plus look at Hasek's save pct.--he can still play at least one last season. I think the Sens boned up not re-signing him.

Both are good, but I think Belfour is a bit better as he has more trophies than Hasek...
Both of these players are now old and should retire...

I like Belfour because he is younger and more consistant. The only thing is his play offs Hasek has a couple of Stanley Cups he has none and is awful in the playoffs.

The Eagle and the Dominator are two of the best goalies who have ever played in the NHL. They have given their all and risen above their peers season in and season out.
That being said, I don't think either one would be a benefit to a team at the moment unless you're talking as a backup or as a goalie coach.
Belfour was subpar this year though he did not get much help in front of him from the Toronto defense. Hasek had yet another injury which kept him from achieving even a minutia of his usual contribution to a hockey club.
I wish both men the best in the sport and in their lives, but I am quite glad the sophomore Henrik Lundqvist will be backstopping the Rangers for the forseeable future.

Neither of them are that good any more because the've been plauged with injuries and haven't had a very productive season because of it but hasek definetly gains the upper hand because he had a better season then belfour.

hasek, i just think he's a lot better coz, as far as i could tell, he stops more goals! unless off course recent statistics have changes. i also like the way he plays more then how belfour plays.

hasek. the wings (my team) are checking belfour out, and i will be so mad if they sign him. he is old, and after his surgery they aren't even sure what kind of shape he is in right now. and i also go to school with his son who is a huge jerk, so that is just more minus points for him.
