The "rules" for ascension to the throne varies from culture to culture. Your question can only be answered by knowing that kingdom's local laws.

For eexample, in an absolute monarchy, there would be no such thing as "unfairly removed," or found "innocent." The king, or queen IS the law.

In some cultures there is a specific order of ascension, such as only the first born of the king can take the throne when the ruler either dies or decides to quit. If there is no first born, then there can be any number of ways to place somone on top.

In some, mostly past, cultures, the king is the guy who killed or beat up enough people to the point where nobody would argue with his right to rule. In those cases, the king usuall ruled untill somebody killed him.

I'm not from a country with Monarchs, but I don't believe they can just be thrown off. I believe this is a until death position....unless you take yourself off. Then it goes to whomever is next in line. It's not a political thing, it's a family thing. Of course I could be wrong, like I said, I'm not from a country with a King or Queen, though I want to be.

The shear idea that there is a "Royal Family" is laughable. So No there should never be a king or queen of anything . No one is that much better then someone else. It is like England why bother with royal brats.
